Threads just like this are popping up on local forums all over the country. There is a nationwide crackdown targeting Skyline going on right now. Skyline owners are in a mad rush to get rid of their cars before the Gov't comes and takes it away to be crushed. .
Japan Partner isn't a scam, a guy in VA bought a DR30 from then a few months back and got it just fine. But there's a side to it, Japan Partner is a export company, not import. If you are bringing your car in through a Canadian Importer then you will have issues, why? Because to put it simply, You have to physically own your car titled in your name and be a Canadian citizen in order to drive a car over the boarder into the U.S.simmode1 wrote:

Are the brokers legit? No, probably not.
Did you get robbed? Maybe. Why do you think the price was so low?!

Your best bet? Don't even try to get it registered and hide it like it's pirate treasure...
Exactly. If your interested, Im from BC, thats how i know so much about what goes on.........Vandrel wrote:

And I mean that entirely, they will check your s***! Buddy of mine got turned away at the boarder a few months ago. They swipe passports and check backgrounds and such now. It's not a quick drive over and all clear like it used to be.
Also, I find it funny how many forums my news post about Kaizo has ended up on, random places all over lol!
Have you been to Japan? I guess not. Been there many times. Dime a dozen there and yes A & A Customs Brokers clear cars in BC (Canada) I bought my R32 for $500 plus shipping, the car is strong but needed paint, only 60,000/km on the car. Don't say it's a scam unless you have used them and got ripped off. We import 35++ per month (U.S. & Canada) through them with no issues. Great broker company. View this link for yourself to see the prices without shipping, a 20/ft container is $1,800 to the U.S. and $1,200 to BC. http://usedjdm.com or http://www.tradecarview.com/us...&hp=3simmode1 wrote:

Where is the car now? Have you physically seen the car in person with your own eyes?
There is a reason the price was so low. It's either a scam, the car is crap or it's a scam.
If you do, however, get the car, then congratulations on the aquisition. Just be ready to have Homeland security breaking down your door in the near future.
Hi Reggie, we need to educate some members here I think.topline wrote:Its not a scam, thats how much those cars go for in Canada. I do a lot of importing between japan, canada and the US so email me if you have any questions, [email protected] or add me on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/toplineautos Also I got some RHD cars for sale so you guys check them out.
What the broker failed to mention to you is that when the car lands, 250 is probably the port fee which is to destuff the crate and send it back. They didnt tell u about the 5% duty tax, the 6.1% GST and the 7% PST...thats just the beginning...Even in Canada u still have to meet DOT EPA compliance up there even though the car is legal. U still lookin at DOT tires since the cars in japan dont come with them and u will have to get DDR lights. Now depending on how well the car is maintained all the minor stuff has to be brought up to code. From there u still gotta do the provincial inspection which is also going to cost you. Its going to impossible to drive your car across any boarder patrolled or not. Insurance in BC is government and not privatized so a car with no tags is not crossing that boarder, i dont car who you are. Pulling the engine wont work either, they are cracking down on that. Unless your an RI with intentions to modify and proof you are going to do that, ur screwed. If I were you I would sell to a canadian dealer and cut your losses now.
I owned many cars in Japan that had well over 100,000 km's and they all passed JCI just fine.DriftTuners.com wrote:Try and own a car in Japan with 100,000+/km on it. Dealers export them because they don't pass in Japan and the Japan Government want's them out.
