Hi Everyone,
I just recently got the 2010 Nissan 3.5 SR coupe, and just installed the nismo cat back exhaust system.
I am new to this forum... any ideas of how i can get a really nice and loud sound on my car, as the nismo exhaust isnt that loud... and any ideas of how i can pimp it, as in making look nice...

the nismo exhaust isn't that loud? i thought it was supposed to be one of the louder ones.
to make it look good, get the stillen lip kit and some rims. welcome to nico!

oh before i forget, just do me a favor and stop saying that you want to "pimp it", it makes your car sound like a cheap hooker.

If sound is what you're trying to accomplish then your next mod should be an intake and then the Y pipe. Not only that you'll get a louder note, you're going to gain a couple of HP also. :luck:

I second that motion -- add the intake and Racingline Y-Pipe. They definitely add to the mix -- but I always thought the Nismo cat-back exhaust was plenty loud enough on its own!

Nismo catback is quiet compared to other exhausts. if you want loud, then get a greddy exhaust or build a custom one. But idk why you want it louder cause I like how the nismo exhaust is. It's Not too loud, not too quiet, but just perfect.
If you wanna make your ride look better, then you better get some coilovers and rims.

K&N intake, not AEM. K&N has the better heat shield.

Remember, it's always more quiet inside the car than outside.

And which is the best and most enormous soundin y-pipe, and where to purchase it from,
Again thanks a lot for all the help

I haven't seen anybody have it for much cheaper than K&N itself. Then again, I haven't shopped around. K&N is probably technologically superior, but it costs probably twice as much, too. But if you've already gone and bought the NISMO exhaust, then technological superiority is probably what's driving you. ;)

I have the Injen intake and I absolutely love the way it sounds. Just throwing out another brand for you to consider. Also, racingline is the only company that produces a ypipe for the 3.5; the racingline website is also the only place that you can purchase the ypipe, unless you buy off another member here. The NICO search feature and google works wonders in finding stuff, like available parts for your coupe and where to buy stuff.

You will find people on the forum supporting the AEM intake (which I have), Injen, and K&N (what others have I forgotten?). It appears that most folks have had good experiences with all three of them. You probably can't go wrong with any of them.

Although i don't have a 3.5, my k&n sounds BEASTY around 3000+ RPM. It put one of the biggest smiles on my face the first time i test drove it :rotfl

As for getting a deal, search eBay. i bought mine for 255 w/ free shipping from TRENDSAUTO, while autozone and even the people at the K&N headquarters here in Riverside wanted to charge me 320. They ship really fast too, got mine in two days

K&N or AEM and racingline y-pipe. Wait for some test pipes or HFC's to come out.

the y-pipe is pretty much a test pipe, it deletes a cat. and i was pretty sure that someone was trying to get a company to produce HFC's for the coupe, although personally i think those would be a waste of money.

I wouldnt mind to see what they would sound like and the power increase. I heard with a tune they feel and sound great. I have a buddy that had test pipes on his TL and it made it sound really raspy. He ended up putting a resonator back on it to quiet it back down cause around 3500 rpm it just sounded rediculous.
