... and signed on to buy a new V that was the same color but different option package from my first V.

I went in to C-N Nissan today to have the Versa I was talking about in my previous thread (which happened to be Magnetic Gray) transferred from another dealership, when we were talking during a brief internet outage at the dealership. I described my old V, and he said "Hey, I have the exact same car in Blue Onyx out back, I just got it off the truck yesterday!"

Out back I went and sure enough... there it was.

So I got all the credit application and d!ck out of the way. I needed to get home to tend to my wife and make dinner (her mother was looking over her for a while) so I left my deposit check and I'll go in tomorrow afternoon to sign the final paperwork to pick it up.

A couple changes from what I had talked about. I had misunderstood the offer that was made over the phone, he said he would show me the invoice, not I would GET invoice. Still AFTER rebate, I still got 250 BELOW invoice, and I got a set of floor mats (not actually included in the sticker on the car) for half price.

I also got the 4.9% for 60 month financing, as I had expected.

So... tomorrow at this time I will be back in a V!

As long as I can avoid the Fords that are trying to squish me that should be no problem.

Is this Kimber character a chick or a dude? I only ask because I was going to make some disparaging comments earlier, but then I was like...wait...don't wanna piss anyone off.

Good deal. Below invoice and low long-term financing. You didn't waste any time updating your signature.

Shame I'm leaving town tomorrow. I could have dropped you off (work at Boeing Everett, live in Northgate.)

Congrats. What's the first mod?!

A child seat, of course!

Although I will definitely be getting this one tinted as well... and I'm considering which BT stereo to install... Probably a MEX-BT5000. I might also wait a little and see if some more manufacturers get in the game soon.

Congrats! Does this mean that costco discount you mentioned in another thread got you to $250 over invoice or was this a special deal because of your prior relationship/specific options you were looking for?

Also, we visited C-N today and spoke with a rep who I don't think was the costco guy ( didn't know what the procedure was for getting the discount). Do you know if this precludes our being able to use the program when we purchase?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome back to the darkside....

The Versa, rebel of the compacts.

I think I have been too into Star Wars lately and lived in the south for 11 years too long now.

Yeah, the Costco discount got me to $250 over invoice. The rebate got me down to under invoice. The exact numbers may be slightly different depending on which model and configuration you choose.

It shouldn't matter which rep you use at the dealership because they all will take your costco card, photocopy it, and involve one of the Costco managers. If you haven't selected a salesperson already, I would suggest Corey Pope. He was very helpful during my sales process.

And make sure you are insistent on getting both the rebate and the financing at the same time. The sales manager didn't know that BOTH were available at the same time on the V... had to have the sales manager go to Nissan's website to show him.

Thanks a lot for the explaination and the rec. Bryant Hamman took us on our test drive and he seemed like a straight shooter (something I understand is typical of Campbell-Nelson). He was aware of both the rebate and the financing, and that they were available together.

250 over invoice makes this a pretty sweet deal - I'm tempted to not bother driving fit and focus..

As far as the fit goes, you'd still be hard pressed to 1) find one to test drive and 2) find a dealer that will sell it to you for MSRP... most are still marking them up by 2-4 thousand.

to continue my thread jacking, we ruled out the focus today because apparently the inventory sucks for 07's. No well-equipped 5-doors are out there.

I told my wife about the fit pricing situation (I knew that it was going on earlier in the year, but didn't know it was ongoing), and she is now not letting me go to a dealer. Doesn't want me to like it and then get us into a car we can't afford. Smart lady.

Now to find the perfect SL CVT...

Just have C-N search for what you are looking for. They can pull up inventory anywhere within a few hundred miles. If it exists close enough for a dealer trade, the will get it for you.

If they have to go outside the seattle area, though, you may lose your costco discount (because it costs the dealers $$ in transport to get your car).
