ebony's transmission crapped out on her the first week in november.

no problem. talked to a local shop and they pick her up.

my car has been there for almost two months....UNTOUCHED. they said they have been waiting for me to give them the okay to go ahead and fix it. I GAVE THEM THE OKAY BEFORE THEY EVER PICKED IT UP! some of this is my fault. when i first talked to them, i was told that they were very busy and it might be awhile before they can get to it. i told them no problem. they can take their time. i'm in no hurry. summertime is over...and well...it's a convertible.

when i worked in a shop, a week was the usual time frame if we said it may be awhile before we could get to something. there is no way on earth that we could let something sit for almost two months. i should have kept better tabs on them, but i just assumed that all this time they were working on the car. i never suspected that it was just sitting there. they have all my contact info. if they were waiting for me, then why not contact me?

grrr...

enough of me rambling. i just needed to vent.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

I had this old 1st gen DSM and blew the 1st gear synchro out on it (i learned stick on the car). Took it into the trans shop mid october. I received it sometime after the semester ended (2nd week of december). They were waiting on parts the entire time they said. Now that I'm many years older and have dealt with shop owners and know how lazy some can be, they probably just didn't order them for a while.

The worst part is that they tried to pretty the transmission back up by spray painting it silver. They didn't get far enough away from the eclipse and got silver speckles all over my red front bumper.

My friend Jay works at this nissan shop called the Z Doctor. The guy that owns it goes by Doc (go figure). He's gotten so bad at procrastinating that he won't order parts until he's been bugged for weeks about it. There's been an old datsun 1200 that was waiting on pistons since june. They came in last week. There's a 280Z sitting on the lift. It waited 9 weeks on a set of valves.
