ok my G sedan sport hit the big 100k mile mark driving home from my softball game last night, what are some things i need to check, have inspected, etc. I know its going to need plugs soon if not now cause my mpg's are awfull regardless of the driving style, it drinks gas like there is no tommorow. The car runs amazingly well and smooth ive done all the regular maintenence and also just had the coolant flushed and new thermo installed. The things that are on my list so far that i want to get done are new belts they are starting to look a little cracked and get the auto trans fluid replaced. Thanks

I also want to add that even though it has 100k miles its feels and drives like a brand new car, and that just feels great. Im so proud to own a awsome well made car that has both beauty and performance, even 6+ years later its still up there with the newer cars of today or better. I enjoy driving it just as much as i like driving my wrx, anyway sorry for the ramble i just love my car and im so glad i got it.

these kind of posts make me happier i own a G35

the old spark plugs are probably why you are drinking gas...

im quickly approaching 60k... i will get my plugs changed during this service... then again at 120k if i havent already traded up for a G37xS...

Congrats on the 100K! Sounds to me like you have it covered!

Maybe one of the techs can chime in, but I had heard that as O2 sensors age, then can cause you to get much worse MPG and that at 100K it's a good time to change them.....but, I would do the plugs now for sure and wait to see if a tech chimes in on the O2's.

What about hoses?? How long are they good for these days??

Nice. Definetely should change out the spark plugs.

Gotta love how great the car runs at 100K still.

I'm almost to 150K miles. 148,870 I think.

yes spark plugs are hopefully going in this weekend, has anyone done them themselves is it pretty easy?

Yeah it seariously feels brand new, some people may hide that there car has high miles 100k+ (100k aint really high i know) but i dont im proud to say it does cause its just flawless. Im just amazed how smooth it is at a red light i sit there and see and feel how smooth it idles, you cant even tell its on. I feel bad for the people that dont own or have driven one, there really missing out.

here is a link when i first bought the car, it now has 20% tint clear side markers, factory spoiler and thats pretty much it no performace mods at all... YET, comming very soon though.

i know what you mean, my moms Nissan armada gets way better mpg's. Like mentioned though i think its due to the plugs i might pull one today to check there current state.

I'll be joining you in another month or so.

I use this as an indicator of when to change the plugs.

Maybe next year or the year after?

no problem man and im not 100% sure they are the orginal plugs, the reason i say so is due to it having poor mpg's and when i bought the car over 2.5 years ago it had only been serviced at the dealer(dealers tell you to wait untill 100k miles) and still only nissan/infiniti techs touch it. What brand are the stockers?

ok so i did my plugs on saturday and yeah id say it was due for a plug change, ill have some pics up asap. Everthing went pretty easy just gotta get some stuff out of the way, all the plugs had normal wear from what i can tell just one plug cyl 5 i think (passenger side the one nearest to the firewall) was soaked in oil which kinda concernd me. The car is much smoother now and we will see if the gas guzzling is reduced.

Wow, a fill up here in Canada is about $60.00+

My 03 G has about 90,000 miles on it with no major problems.

Note it also has about 200hrs of towing our dual axle camping trailer on it as well.

A great sport sedan & a great tow vehicle!

Oh man how quickly the miles rack up. I'm at 135,000 and the car is still running as good as ever. My VQ30DE Maxima had 245,000 and was still running strong.

The older VQ's were very durable. Hopefully the 3.5's are as well.

We towed with this 3.0 VQ Quest for many years and the engine/transmission was just about problem free. The van had over 300,000 mikes on it when it got hit and was written off. At that time it was 16 years old and running fine!

My 1990 Q45 [purchased new] has 326,700 miles no internal engine work except chain guide replacement and new oil pump chain.........5th set of plugs and 2 coils and harness replaced. Resealed valve covers twice so far. 83 oil changes.
100k was in 1997. Keep oil clean on G should allow the same results.

Impressive!
I just did the math
326700 miles divided by 83 oil changes =3936 miles between oil changes.

I only reached 246000 miles on a single vehicle but this does prove out that changing oil every 3500 to 4000 miles results in a long engine life.

I doubt if we will ever see such a result from those that claim they can go 25k miles on some synthetic or special oil between oil changes.

VQ35 is a great engine and there are Maxima's running around with 250k+ easily. I had 158k on mine before trading it in and I never had an engine issue from day 1.

im at 109k now and she's still burnin rubber, the only issue i have is a rattle comming from some where under the car, sounds like a loose heat shield but thats just what it sounds like. Another member was having the same or similar issue but havnt logged on in over 7 months and cant find the topic or my post on that topic. Any way the rattle doesnt effect the cars drivability and still runs smooth as glass, i believe i read some thing about a timing chain tensioner, it sucks i cant find my post.

Its not likely your timing chain tensioner. I would check your Cat Heat shields. Mine rattle, but I forget to fix it while I'm under the car. Hopefully next time I'll remember. haha
