hello everyone! i had some questions really quick. idk if this is the right area but im sorry.

ive read up on the c18 engine and the ka24de engine. and personally i like the ka24de. but the thing is im having trouble finding a 93 240sx so that leaves me with a problem. id like to stay away from the ca18 with the older 240s cause they are single cam.

does having a single cam really matter that much?is it feesable to fix those engines up? in what i read it seemed to me it was easier to fix a ka up.

and just one more thing

is it possible to convert a ka to rhd?

i like the ca18 more but i wouldnt get a ca18det. why not just get a sr20 or rb25 or 26? if you get a ca18 it will still spank the crap out of the ka24(stock vs stock). but the ka will make more power overall if you are plannnig to build, it all depends on what you are planing to do with your car. autocross, drag, daily, drift etc? havent heard any guys really build a ca18 so im not sure either. everyone calls the ca18 the mini rb because its setup is like the rb.

I believe you are confusing a few things.

In the US, the 240SX never came stock with a CA18.'89 and '90 240SX's came with a single cam KA24E.'91 thru '94 240SX's came with dual cam KA24DE.

The single cam's aren't a bad engine but the DOHC's are definately more tuner friendly.

idk wakopedia confused me. lol

this would be a drift car.

the reason why i dont want a sr20 is because i live in california. i dont want to deal with the hassle of swapping it out and dealing with the cops. plus not many people build ka's. everyone always talks about oh im gonna get a sr20 this im gonna do this to my sr20. id kinda like to have people ask oh pop your hood and not see an sr20 and be like wtf!! lol

but anyways i was planning on building the engine later on the ka. id just really like to have a ka24de-t with an aftermarket turbo of course. my plans were to just do suspension work first(as long as the engine was in good shape) and then work on the rest later.

i live in california too and never had a prolem yet lol, and i have a fully built sr20 but maybe cuz i live in the middle of the desert. well if you are planning to build a ka, u better get a head start on it right now and start reading a lot, and when you think u read enough go back back onto your computer and read some more. research is key.

My bro is doin the KA-T and he can tell you that its not worth the money, time, or hassle. RB25 gets the same power for about half the price he paid. I mean hell yea it's awesome to fricken turbo the KA but if u aint got the money or time, then just do the CADET. My buddy over in Okinawa has a 91 hatch and his CA is whippin half the skylines over there lol so just do what you feel you have the time and money for
