I got a 97 hardbody with a manual transmission.
The engine is that the ka24e? Its definitely a 4 banger
While it's running okay I'm going to have my next engine ready, I was just wondering if any engines bolt directly on? Ka24de? Then turbo it?
Also I read the CA18DET can bolt to the frame.
Also what do the trannys hold out till?

While I'm sure a thorough internet search may prove useful for you, my hypothesis is that they either bolt right up or are pretty straight forward to make bolt right up. Consider the fact that dual cam KA shares the SAME BLOCK as the single and the block is what mounts to the chassis, it may be reasonable to assume you might have success there. Further, the CA also came in the 240sx (technically 180sx) and bolts to the same location I believe as the KA, so again, it may be a good hypothesis that the mounting of either of those two engines would be "straight forward" as far as necessary mods, if not a direct drop in.

Most of us use hypothesis to make mods to our vehicles. Try it and see bro. ::shrugs::
