i just found out my grandmother...

..i just found out this moment my grandmother from my mothers side of the family has cancer

she had some fluid in her lungs and they extracted it and put her on oxygen and they tested the fluid and it came back positive for cancer. we dont know what kind of cancer, its being tested now so i will hear what kind it is soon, my heart is broken, i love my grandmother so ****ing much.

she hasnt smoked in over 18 years, i dont know exactly how long, but i know she quit before i was born.

why the hell does life do us like this, why the **** must there be such an illness that just slowly eats you away. I have lost my favorite aunt awhile ago due to cancer, why take another loved one from me. god i wish this was a bad dream but its not

I hope things get better. I hope saying this doesnt offend you. but I learned that they found a plant in Hawaii that fights cancer cells, and could have possible cured it but when the scientist went back to get it it was cleared away but an upcoming development.

I'm really sorry to hear about this bro. I've lost a few family members to cancer, luckily my grandmother made it through.

Cancer has changed my life. Because of that I am going to med school to study oncology after I finish my PhD. I currently am researching a technology for early detection of cancer in hopes of changing things. Good luck to you and your family.

these are the times when words can't express peoples feelings.. Im not going to say that I know what you feel because I don't, and no one besides you know how you feel.. but one thing is for sure, we are here for you and my prayers are with you and yours.

That sucks... I was at work last Friday and my mom called me and said my great uncle just died.. contructive heart failure; went to his service on Thursday.. I hadn't seen him for a long time and now I feel like **** for not being able to say goodbye to him or seeing him one last time.. He & my aunt had been married for 38 years, since he turned 18. My grandma [who recently had a stroke and had just gotten out of heart surgery when my uncle passed away] had bought them a star [you can do that I guess] for their Anniversary, my mom wrote a poem about it but it was good and just made really sad.

Best of luck to you and your Grandmother, I hate to say this, but if the worst does happen, you know she'll never be gone because you'll always remember the times you two had together, no matter what happens that is something you can never forget & neither will she.

i know how you feel, my grandpa is currently in the hospital with blood clots, pnemonia, and heart problems. my dad is really upset cuz his dad is dying and 3 months ago his sister, my aunt, died of a heart attack and she was in pretty good health, no one saw it coming and it was a real shock

That is terrible news for anyone to hear, I would never wish cancer on my worst enemies. Just make sure to make the most of the remaining time you have left with your grandmother. I lost my mother in January of 2001, not of cancer however. What really destroyed me was that she died the 21st and I had not talked to her since New Years, when I left her house (parents divorced) after getting in an argument with her. I am not a religious man in any way, but I want you to know that I am praying now for you and for your grandmother, and I pray often that one day we can use our technology to further the fight against cancer and other viruses/diseases that continue to take our loved ones. This is great motivation for me, thinking about this....I need to quit smoking. : \
