My car has 50,8xx miles. I was on my way to a nissan meet, get to the on ramp and go from 2nd gear to 4th gear to 6th gear. I then see my rev's climb in 6th and the engine rev but no acceleration . So I figure it is my clutch. I have driven 5 cars with a standard trans and have never had to replace a clutch...ever. That includes 3 Ford products. I have read all the posts about people replacing the clutch on our cars(G and Z) at 30K,40K, but I always assumed that they were abuser's or just wanted a step up. I do not hammer on this car, I like going fast on curves but thats about it. End rant.

Any suggestions on a aftermarket flywheel that isn't noisy? I think I will get the JWT clutch.

From what I read the clutch may be a little weak for a car with this much horsepower. Most of my clutch cars have gone well above 100k, some in the area of 200k. I did have one 67 Cougar where you were lucky to get 20 k but then there was a problem there since it was a manual conversion and linkage issues caused problems.

But from your post it sounds like you are reasonably carefull and what I see had no warning at all. Almost like you had something come apart.

Haha, I think I can drive. I put 120,000 miles on a clutch in a Mustang. I did buy it used, from the first owner. He was 45ish.

Mine went out at around 23000 miles. What did mine in was agressive driving on mountian roads. I don't think the stock clutch can handle the downshifts in that type of driving.

I would love to hear your review on it. I can't decide between the JWT or the 1 piece chromemoly ACT unit. I am more concerned with noise than flywheel weight, but I don't want to pay $1100 for the oem.

I will let you know as soon as it is done! I can't wait for my car to be done lol!

I am worried about the noise but I want something that will last longer... I think I have finally decided to keep my car until I am done with Law School lol...

So I am looking to add test pipes and a spacer and a rear section soon! i want all this done as I break in the Motor lol!

I installed a JWT flywheel/clutch combo on my friends Z. Much better than stock. Actually pretty quiet...but you will hear a little chatter when your windows are open and idling. Expescially in the garage.
