Note... motor pictured is stock block with truck heads held on with 2 bolts and intake placed on top for mock up. Transmission not in yet but I figured I'd post the pic for fun.

very nice sommmatt. are you not going to upgrade the valve springs and retainers?

I'm in the process of doing the truck motor into an s14

and kudos for going with the Al. block.

Heads already have dual gold springs and Ti Retainers installed.

Also the important one... ARP rod bolts.

I have the same lifters and cam. Injectors are on the large side, you can boost to 8lbs on those.

450 should be easy to get, I'd suggest a 3800 stall

I got bored of turbo 4 bangers, decided a lighter engine with tonnes of power under the graph and pistons that didn't need to be warmed up for 20 minutes would be awesome.

Free injectors, I'll cram em in! Tuning will be interesting :P I've been following your build since before I built my KA.

5.3's are so cheap these days. When I build a new motor I am going for a 6.0 iron block. 13.5:1 compression.

Get an oil cooler on her, it will help a lot, and run some serious fans if the hoods not vented.

Oh tuning for the injectors will be easy, I run 37/42's which is big they edit duty cycle.

And my aftermarket BBK throttle body didn't clear my hood. I way sell it if your interested. It's an 80MM which pairs well with the LS6 intake you have,

I've got a lot of remnants from the KA build including a huge rad + ridic fans. The snail made tonnes of heat @ 30 PSI. I'll probably hack a hood up for track use, as well, I do have a couple of em.

Oil cooler would be an idea, I'm hoping to be dry sump before the end of the summer though.

And I did get this 5.3 for 300 bucks from some shady nig nog in Detroit. Booya. 74000 miles, he even showed me the stolen odometer.
