i'd like to say hello to nico club.

The car: 1995 s14 (mfd 9/94) with a s14 sr20. i just bought the car, i have never owned a turbo car and dont know a whole lot about cars in general, i know lots about gsxr's and dirtbikes but not this. although i am very mechanically inclined w/ bikes.from what i can tell the car has a forza tuning exhaust (turbo back), BOV, xspower FMIC, 3" everything, safc2, and new kyb's all around, less than 10 miles on the swap. I paid 2500$,yes, 2500$ it was a mechanics lein and i am waiting on the title. the mechanic just wanted it gone. (no knocks or tapping or problems starting up after sitting for such a long time) the swap was completed a year ago and sat sinceThe problem: the car needs throttle on start up, and runs poorly, idles ok, if i unplug any coil it runs like crap but if i unplug #3 it dies out immediatley, i have no idea why. judging by the random wires all over, stock raditor, clutch fan and lower budget parts i assume it is due to a bad wiring job. the safc2 is set at -50 to make the car idle ok. i dont know how to set the safc2 but i have 2 manuals and a diagrahm for it.i have searched but found nothing like my problem. help me, thanks

I dunno much about the settings on the SAFC but I would look into adjusting the TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) Check out the FSM for it. And set the TPS to somewhere like .35-.37V and see what happens when you try to start it up without giving it gas.

what should i do about the #3 cylinder dying out when it is unplugged? im going to take a pic of my fusebox because there is almost nothing in there.i dont think it is the tps, but i will check it out, i figured that it runs and starts up like crap because of cyl #3.

If the SAFC is hooked up correctly. Unplugging the SAFC is pretty much unhooking the maf.

~I forgot to see you had an Atmo. BOVGuess the SAFC is useful for something.
