What's up guys? I just bought a 240 a couple days ago, and someone pointed me to this site. I'm a regular on automotiveforums.com, so I thought I'd check it out. Anyhow, here are pics of the car

link doesn't work. hey, before you ask anything about the car, make sure you read the FAQ's at the top and use the search button for stuff.

160k on it, but it still rides well and runs great. The interior is next to perfect. It has a little hole in the drivers seat and one little piece of vinyl missing off of the passenger door, other than that its flawless. I love it so far, I can hardly wait for my bank account to recover so I can start the modding =) I'm gonna think it through though, I'll probably start with shocks/struts springs and wheels all at once, but I haven't decided for sure. I know I want to keep it super clean, if I put a kit at all it will be really subtle, and I'll probably put an OEM wing, along with my favorite wheels, O.Z. superleggera's...mmmmmm tasty :D

That has got to be one of the cleanest engine bays I have ever seen, but I bet mine is cleaner. I'll try to get some pictures of it and post 'em...

WelcomeI suggest a mix of steam and hand washing to keep your engine clean, works for me.

nice car, good condition. its a 5speed so it shouldnt drop its transmission at 160K like mine did! =)

Since you guys are talking about cleaning engines ill throw u a few heads up before you try doing it =) there are plenty of articles on the web about this also. make sure that you cover up everything electrical...alternator, battery, fuse box, MAF, any computer connections. i use plastic wrap when i did mine. one thing that seems to be very vulnerable on the 240 is the spark plugs, i got a little water down in mine and it messed up my idle for a few days but then went away, if its possible i would take out the spark plug wires and cork up the holes left. then wrap the wires up. i never tried engine degreaser, i couldnt find it at the time, so i just used WD40 and a tooth brush (the same one i use! arg!) to remove all the grease and it works fine. i would stay away from high pressure, i used an open hose, u might nudge something lose, but other than that as long as u dont spray the computer connections directly i dont think it would be a problem, a power washer is what detail places use.

I use the engine degreaser at the car wash all the time (once a month). It doesn't spray high pressure, but it does a good job. I havent' had any problems, but I do make sure that the car is running when I do it.

That car looks amazing. I love the lack of wing. Don't through one on there... agh. It's you car... : : sigh : : whatever car I get is going wingless. Welcome, have fun, stay long as you like.
