I have been doing some major searching and am still torn about what is best. I made a thread about safe HP on an FMU and the answers seem legit and all but then I look in the FAQ and in one of the threads, everyone says KA with SR 370cc's and an SAFC is more reliable/safe than an FMU. WD and others posted in that thread pretty much saying it would be "better to spend the $350 or so to get the 370's & SAFC than just run an FMU." I know the thread was from a while back so have your guys' opinions changed in that time? I just want to know what is best to make ABOUT 200HP safely and reliably within a budget. If that means spending a few extra hundred, so be it. All I'm looking for is a for-sure answer so I know what to get. I'm not trying to call anyone out, I just want an honest opinion from someone that has experience/dealed with both. Thanks.

Btw, here's the thread: zerothread?id=123587

If you get bigger injectors you need a tune, FMU won't work iirc.

Razi's right, if you get the 370's you will need a tune, then a wideband in order to use your safc correctly. With the FMU, all you need is the FMU, and you are set.

370 setup = $90 for the injectors, $300-$500 for the tune, then $200 for the SAFC unit.

FMU setup = $90 for the actual FMU, and that's it.

For low boost, get the FMU. Save your money for when you want to make big power and get a tune for like 550cc or bigger injectors.

FMU > 370's + SAFC

Price, reliability, simplistic. SAFC + 370's has no advantages.

^ That's the answer I was looking for.

In the thread I linked, they weren't even talking about a tune at all, just injectors and an safc. I know how the setups work I just didn't know which one was best for my build.

I have a quick question and didn't feel like making a new thread since it kind of fits in here.

Say you have a tuned ecu for SR 370cc's, so your car runs like stock. You then want a bigger turbo, so you get a fairly large t3/t4. Could you run an 8:1 FMU with the sr injectors to keep up with boost? Wouldn't it be just like adding an FMU to a stock setup, so as long as you pulled a couple of degrees off your base timing it should be just like a "stock" fmu setup, but with more potential?

I thought of this the other day and haven't searched yet, so sorry if it's a stupid question.
