So i hooked up a double din in the "G" along with 4 gauge amp wire with a diamond audio 600/1 with 2 10in D3's! Well the factory bose sounded good until i hooked up the double din. The factory radio had 4 plugs and after the install i had 2 plugs left, of course all the stereo shops around here won't tell me how to get the stock bose back to the way they used to sound. Anybody know how to do this?

Welcome to Nicoclub!

I'm not really sure what all you just said as I'm not a speaker guy, but I'm sure someone who knows what their talking about will come along soon. Try the search button up at the top of your screen... You may also want to post this in the technical section as this seems like a pretty in depth issue. I'm not steering you away from the site as we welcome all new-comers, but you may want to talk to a stereo/speaker specialist. Hopefully someone here has had a similar experience.

Again Welcome!

Dave

Are you getting sound or no? I'm not sure what the power rating on the Bose speakers are, but they are 2 ohm speakers and your double din power output is rated at 4 ohms. 2 ohm speakers present 1/2 the resistance on a system than 4 ohm speakers theoretically, thus they need half the power 4 ohm speakers require (theoretically; 2 ohm speakers also have less clarity, which may be part of the reason the Bose system is terrible). So you could be overpowering them. If you aren't getting sound out of the stock speakers, then you need to bypass the Bose amp. I don't know how its wired or how it is sounding, but those are my 2 pointers right now. But in most cases (100% in my case, I've installed a few myself) when installing a new head unit, you need to bypass the OEM amp so I would lean more towards that one. If that's the case, you need to buy a bypass harness.

If you bought the unit from Crutchfield, call them up, they have great technical service.

Sounds like you have the same problem I had after installing an aftermarket head unit. Check your RCA's and make sure you have them properly hooked up (front left, front right, etc) as that was the problem I had after hooking mine up for the first time.

How did you connect the double DIN to your vehicle radio harness? For the Bose system you need to use a level matching device like the Peripheral SVEN4 or something similar. This will properly match the preamp voltage of your double DIN to the inputs of the BOSE amp.

If your amp isnt getting a signal for the HU (and it probably isn't as I haven't seen a stock wiring harness for the G35) then you will either have to bypass the AMP (wire the speakers directly) or as posted above, use a preamp voltage to the bose amp. Personally, I rewired the speakers (and if you just run it off the HU its ok, but not gret) and installed an aftermarket 4 channel Alpine amp. That is the better solution as you will want to chagne out your speakers anyways.
