I'd rather get a RX-8 or a 350z... They all perform the same, well according to top gear they do...

Yeah, the M3 is a helluva car. I would love to have one. I would sell me G if it would help me get one, but I still wouldn't have enough money.

I heart M3's too, awesome track cars. But the high cost to repair them is what prevents me from buying one.

My next used car will probably be a 96 or so M3.

It's still beautiful, but the M5 is a bastard child, as is the 5-series. So ugly.

More a fan of the E30 M3 myself, but the newer ones are very nice too.

Indeed! Ive heard that the tires theyre fitted with are too high limit, too unforgiving on anythign but a racetrack, and that theyre not different enough from the regular M3 to justify the extra $$$. and its certainly is a LOT of extra $$$ too.

still... Carbon-fibre roof.... :drooling

350z prforms as well as an M3? oh no.... id take the last gen M5. not the newer ones. like an 01 or something. if any one you seen the BMW short movies, especially Star, you know why. i got to cruise around in an S500 recently, man, doors close by themselves, no door locks, etc. hot as car, plus the guy added sweet rims and a sexy exhaust on it. so not fair, humbles my S14

E30 is soo cool looking, but to my understanding, it's also the most problematic, but hey, we're talking pure race here right?

New M3=Hotness

Where are the short movies? On the BMW site? I remember seeing the comercial for one a while back, but cant remember if you had to buy them or if you could just watch them on line.

those rock, the newer ones aren't as good as the older though

Star is by far the best though.

I'd rather have a G35 coupe than an M3. G35 is one of the all-time most beautiful cars ever made. Plus I the price difference so large, almost 20k.

BMW is sooo much better then the 350z and the G35, lookswise and luxury wise. I bet it performs better as well.

It does perform better, but not value-wise. You get an assload more for your money in the G35... Plus Infinitis run for a lot longer without problems then BMWs do.

I've never heard about E30's being problematic, if anything, i heard that the newer Bimmer's are. At least old skool Bimmers have open engines bays so you can work on them. These days, manufacturers put plastic covers over those mysterious engines.

I don't know why i brought that up, i always hated covers on engines

can't argue with that, covers irritate the hell out of me, I'd rather see all kinds of moving stuff and shiny things then stupid plastic that has to be taken off to work on the damn thing.

I have a buddy that swapped 97M3 engine into 1988 E30. His best run was 13.2 on stock suspension and tires.
