I hear a winning sound comming from my fuel pump. also think there might be fumes ...

I have a 90 q45 and I hear a winning sound comming from the fuel pump in the trunk. I wiggled the wires around on the wiring harness connected to the pump and the winning increased and also decreased from time to time depending on movement of the harness. The sound is not loud. The previous owner said she could not get rid of this oder comming from inside the car and seemed to think it was gas. She also complained about getting head aches. She said she replaced the fuel pump twice. There does seem to be a oder that I smell but im not sure it is gas that I am smelling. The car has an oil leak and power steering fluid leak that I am working on getting fixed right away. So I am not sure if it is the oil leak and power steering fluid comming in through the vents or if it is gas from the trunk. Doesn't smell like gas and I haven't rode too much with the windows up. On hot days I ride with the ac on around town but never a trip to really see if i get a headache

Give us some more details for the gurus to sink their teeth into:

-did she show u records of replacement pumps?-if so were they OEM?-has the fuel pump controller ever been replaced?-is the smell coming from the vents?or the engine bay?-how bad is the P/S leak? (volume per week) the oil leak?(volume per miles)-is the AC working properly? or leaking?-have you checked/smelled the various hoses under hood? if so , what, if any results did you get?
