so im just venting and wondering if stuff like this happens to anyone else........ everything always breaks together for some reason

on my 99 maxima the knock sensor went out, which isnt that bad a deal but i have to wait on it to come in, or pay out my &$$ for one at the dealer/parts house. im not paying $130 for something i can order for $26 on ebay. so im stuck waiting. in the mean time i dont wanna drive it cause it runs like crap.

on my project 240 ive cramed a yota 22r/20r hybrid in it and i finnaly started it saturday. something good..... i have to get a driveshaft made and do the radiator hoses then i can move under its own power, but...... i got the wrong type of fuel regulator, i want a return style and i bought a 3 port deadhead style by accident thinking it would work. more money

soooo...........im driving my sr swaped 240 yesterday and whatdoya know it starts overheating..... so i pull over and check it and guess what, the upper radiator outlet broke off of the radiator. GREAT so i used so rigging injanuity. and fixed it enough to get it home. so now im in the market for a radiator, and i hope nother else is screwed up,ya know like head gasket...... more money more money.

so....... i drive my yota truck to work, and get there fine........... but on my way home i hear a nasty metal on metal rattle comming from the passenger side floor board. now i havent looked at it yet cause i dont want to if you know what i mean, but im thinking center drag link, idler arm, or tie rod cause it was all over the road.......

so im gonna drive the max to work tomarrow and hope nothing blows up.this has been a great week..... sorry for the long rant but i dont think i can take anymore

1.

2. Passenger side floor board rattles, comes loose and drags on the ground while shooting sparks in your face, then proceeds to fly off.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about that . I had a week like that a while back. My xbox got the red rings, the next day my vacuum cleaner took a s***. Then going to drop my xbox off at the UPS store and pick up and new vacuum cleaner my 240s radiator took a s*** in the walmart parking lot. when it rains it f***ing pours.

LMAO

now me and the mad scientist have to replace those piston rings you fried!

man at least someone can find humor in all this

yea it always happens every few months but nothing like this or this expensive. its always little pita stuff like coolant lines under the intake, "damn maxima", little switches, bulbs, or fuses. stupid stuff really, thats just annoying. but this time.......

ive had a similar week. First i noticed my powersteering rack was leaking, and generally taking a poop, the same day i noticed my control arm bushings were shiitty, on my way to albuquerque to pick up said parts, i got pulled over. 3 tickets later, 7mph over the limit, a fix it ticket, and one for having an expired insurance card, i go to start my car and it doesnt start.... so here i am on a saturday morning getting ready to go fix the shiit. i feel your pain.

Seconded. Also, hybrids are worse than normal cars.

heres for those who are interested

well things are starting to get better, my truck turned out to be the bed smashed into the cab...... see if i let anybody borrow it again...... and my buddy had a knock off koyo radiator he let me have for $35.the max though........ its running so lean the spark plugs are all jacked up so....... no driving it till i figure out what else is wrong with it. still not a great week though.

as far as hybrid motors go...... what im doing has been do time and time again with no issues and is a well known mod in the toyota world. also they are in the same engine family and share the same block, with the only diffences being bore and deck height. so basicly im doing an over bored 20r. the 20r head flows WAY better that the 22r head which is the whole point of swaping. also i wanted to do something with a carburator, and ive been thinking about an old celica but i wanted something that has an aftermarket. i have plenty of spare 22r's laying around and thought hey that'll be fun..... boat loads of torqe, litterally bullet proof, in a great handling car.

ok i found out i had 2 problems with the max, along with the bad knock sensor, apparently they dont like iridium plugs either. i put platniums in it and it runs fine now .

also when i was changing my radiator in the 240 i fixed my A/C!!!!!! i had a bad wire to the ac fan and the system kept venting from too much head pressure. but it works now. and i have to also thank codyace for the new bracket.

and heres some more pics of the odd ball swap im doing its dirty, but..... also theres a video at the end too
