Soooo whats up guys, i havent posted in forevvverrr, so much has been happening, but heres an update on what has been happening with the 240 :) :chuckle: :naughty:

well first off im sure a few of you know about my red 89 hatch
Image
i owned it for about a week before it slid down my driveway when i was inside :rotfl :wtf2:

after the choas cleared i managed to find a black 91 hatch with no interior, blown motor, auto trans, but decent body, regretfully i dont have any pics untill i finished the sohc swap or the interior swap, dash and alot of s*** was already in when i took the pic, imagine it completely gutted and thats where my start point was
heres a during interior swap pic

after the swap and buff

then i was happy for a couple months and got bored with the 120hp, i saw a cxracing kit who advertised a bolt on kit with no ecu reflash or injectors, i desided to test this unlikely claim. Beginning of the turbo
Image
front mount behind the front reinforcement, screw taking it off and ruining everything in a crash, a few cuts later and it was in

skeptical i finished the turbo and didnt do anything but bolt it on, turned the key and it fired right up, ran great, wideband showed i was still running a little rich but better rich than lean. ive been running the kit hard, pushing 12psi on stock everything for about three weeks then turned it down to 6 psi just for daily driving for about 3 months now and absolutely no problems other than the maf not knowing where the air the bov was pushing out was going, so downshifts were a must. not a big issue. i am going to be going for bigger and badder tho but thats going to be going into the new ka24e, not the one i have the kit on now with about 150xxx and a horrible timing chain. so ive had it for a little while and now im bored
so last weekend i started on all the body work and removed all the rear accesorys (rear wiper, spoiler, antenna)
Image
sanded and primerd
Image
half the car sanded down and fixed up
Image
primed (still working on kick panels)
Image
front end(with beautiful front mount)

well thats about it so far, the car has had the following:
Interior swap, brown to black
auto to manual swap
ka24de to ka24e swap
bodywork
ka24e-T :)

tell me what you all think, ask for any information as i have studyed this car up and down inside and out.
ill keep everyone updated!!

Wait. You turboed your 150k mile motor without getting bigger injectors or tuning it? How much power are you making? My friend did the same to his, ran it rich, and blew it up...

yeah injectors and a better tune will make your car happy, that and recirculating your BOV.

I can't believe your red car's headlight just shot out like that. I will be so pissed if that happens to me.

Not even an FMU to compensate for the boost?
Did you at least retard the timing at the distributor?

Get larger injectors and a tune man, it'll save you time and money down the line.
You might want to recirculate your BOV as well, it'll keep it from stumbling when you let off the gas.

Nice body work!

to everyone whos asking about the injectors and fmu/tune, im building another kaet out of the car, the one thats in the car was just testing a CXracings Bolt on kit claim, a lot of people were asking about it on here, and for those looking to just turbo its not a bad idea, but for power yes deff tune and injectors, the base maps should be tuned as soon as its bolted on tho, i went the other way seeing how the CXracing kit said at most to gap the plugs. yeah its actually pretty sweet its holding up this well, giving me time to get the other motor straightened out. all the holes in the hatch were first patched with a piece of metal and some tack welds on the inside, and a light coat of bondo-hair on the outside, still needs a thin coat of mud and itll be done. as for where in maryland, southern md, calvert county. as for paint plans, give me an idea, i was going to spray it black roof and green body, not sure tho, but every car ive owned almost has been black and im a little tired of it
