Ok guys, I sold my 240 a few years back and went DSM (97 talon turbo) it was a good car, but I missed my 240. I came across a guy that has a 93 coupe, 130k miles, in PRISTINE condition, (all the bells/whistles including working HUD) but it's an Auto. He's asking $2900, but I think I can get it for closer to $2400. My question is this:Is an Auto that bad? My last 240 was a 93 fastback, 5 speed, is this really gonna bug me that much? Also, the price seems ridiculously low, what do you guys think the car is worth to someone willing to do a swap? In other words, could I buy this car and sell it for a profit? I appreciate your input on this one, I think I've been away too long-

Auto not fun. 5spd better. But if the car is in good cond. then you could swap whenever you are fed up with the dumb auto.

I hate that even though I am braking to a stop at a red light the car is still trying to drive. So stopping in N is easy and quick. Stopping in D sucks, right before I stop it starts running rich and fireballing before the cat. So I am thinking of rebuilding my spare KAe for turbo and just build it 5spd and swap it in when its ready.

Plus the 240sx can do u-turns unlike eclipses. I had a 2g gs-t before my current 240.

If you can get it for $2400, I would say go for it. Doing a 5 speed swap isn't too bad anyways.

Yes, we all know that 5 spd is very much different from auto. BUT, if it's really pristine like you said that it was, it really depends. Is it going to be a long term thing or will you end up selling it again? That's the main question. If it's going to be around for a while, then I say get it becuz it's not common to find a clean 240 around that much anymore. Not to say that you won't be able to find another one. It's going to be worth it in a long run if you have the plans, time, and dedication for it. Swaps happen fairly quickly so auto shouldn't bother you too much. As long as you don't drive auto for like 2 years and forget how to drive stick. JK

Most I ever spent on an s13 was 900$. And I've owned 3 so far.

2400 is a very high price to me at least.

And automatic sucks, but 5 speed swap is cake if you know what you're doing and have the parts

Auto does not suck, but manual transmissions do last longer than automatics. I think its really up to you if u like it and it runs good and there's nothing wrong with it then you should get it. Try to go as low as you can with the price.
