would you believe my luck. I moved on friday. My car is in NC still! I got my new turbo in on friday. put it on ther and tried to drive. I was having problems so I parked. I noticed that my radiator hose was disconnected. Hooked it up and squeezed the hose. Heard a noise from the back of motor. I was looking at where the noise was coming from and a squirt of water was coming from inbetween the head and block!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate my luck. I must have nocked the radiator hose off and overheated and blown the HG. I have to ship that lil car to washington state! I hate my luck. I was gonna fix it before I had to leave but I had my tools packed up! and a new HG wouldnt be in till this wednesday. Shipping quote is 2170.60. AHHHHHHHHHHHH.

man, it seems like some of my recent luck has been on the move, sorry to hear about that man. I hope you find a more wallet-friendly way to fix your situation.

shop around for the shipping, you can probably get it done for around a grand if you do end up shipping it.

Shouldn't cost that much to ship the car. Try goign to a local used car dealership. They get their cars shipped by the big trucks. Maybe if you give them $100 or so for there hassle they might be able to have your car dropped off at another dealer in Washington.....

$2200 to ship it!? Holy crap, you could fly over there, fix the head gasket, and drive it back for cheaper than that.

Yeah, dude, don't pay that much money to ship your car. If anything, pay to get it fixed at a shop, then fly out and drive it back. It would still be cheaper than $2200.

i went with a .60 ar instead of a .70 air research turbo. I kept my .63 exhaust. All I ordered is the center section and compressor housing and I guess that my gauge is NOT working, till now I thought it was! I am only in va now, I just am to busy with the move and I have to check in aug 13 and I cant afford to run into another problem on the road! I almsot started crying when I saw the water coming out the headgasket! Instead I drank a 1/5 of jack and set of for va the next morning! Thanks for the sympathy! I am gonna check around more on the shipping!

Just have someone there fix it then drive it to Washington. I'm sure that's cheaper than shipping it.

well I am not in nc anymore I am in va and leaving for WA tomarrow! I got a quote for 1200 so I think that I am gonna do that! I have to report in on aug 11. Not to mention drive there. Thank you for the offer, and if you dont want the cometic HG You wanna bring it by the garage where my car is.

BTW I am not having any shop work on my car! That is insulting, I would rather spend the money to ship than have another man touch my baby!

1200 is reasonable. By the time you factor in your time to drive there and back with a dolly and then gas etc. Mine as well pay a little bit for someone to do it for you.

It shouldn't cost half of that to get the HG replaced, should it? Or is it just time that is the problem?

Also, if it helps, I was building my S13 for two years, and blew the engine after driving it only 110mi. So, I don't want to hear it!

hmm....that isn't the best luck:) go tell that to my friend that has had the 3 cars he's eva had get rodknock(a cherokee, a mk3 supra(which had 2 engines replaced before he got rid of it), and a 240!), all that in the timeframe of 3 or 4 yrs.

or me, i've had 2 rod knocks and a messed up head.(valves hit pistons).

eitherway sucks bout yer rad hose goin out.(something like that happened to another friend due to shady shop work, the heater core hose was messed up by the shop and well 1 day the car overheated while on the highway, warped the head to no use)
