First of all the Z is a verry different experience for me! This is the 3rd day I've been driving it. My questions are...

1. My Z is freaking loud!!! And when I say loud I mean engine wise....it jsut doesnt sound quiet. Is that normal???

2. When I hit bumps it feels like the rear end is gonna let loose! Is that due to my inexperience w/RWD? It just doesnt feel right.

3. My trunck/hatch seems to hit hard when I hit pot holes. Does this happen yo anyone? Do you just re-weather strip it?

Thanks!

When you say loud, are you talking about the mufflers and exhaust, or the engine itself is making noise?Your shocks may need to be checked if bumps are hard to take. The Z in good condition should ride smooth and take normal road imperfections very well. The hatch might need the catch adjusted or the stops are worn out. There should be no noise from the hatch if you hit a bump. Go to the back and push down on it..does it move?...it shouldn't when it's latched

Well loud as in engine bay loud. When Im out of the car you can just hear the fan blowing freakin loud and the belts turning!!! I guess Im just not used to the loudness of the engine compartment! As for the hatch...it just seems as though when I hit a bump it tends to rattle as if it opens slightly and then slams closed even though it is locked. But like you said...maybe it needs the catch adjusted or the stops are worn out.

Thanks

Road noise just comes with the territory on our cars. You can lay down some insulation/sound deadening material. Dynamat makes both a spray in type of sound deadener and sheeting as well.

On the hatch, try adjusting the latch a little bit.

sounds like your fan clutch is locked up, typical on an aolder car, replace the fan clutch and you'll gain some quiet and some hp, and I gotta say the Z32 is not far form a lexus, it's my opinion the Z32 is more fo an infiniti than a Z, there si sound deadening on the sound deadening, after playing with old Z's the Z32 seems to be more luxury than sport
