I had the bright idea to change all the connectors on my 90 300zx n/a 2+2. I replaced coils and injector connectors. Took my time and soldered all splices came out excellent except the two cylinders closest to fire wall are not firing. The old connections were all green and brittle. Is it possible the coils are gone? It seemed to run on five cylinders b/4 I started now I'm down to 4. PLEASE HELP. I do have a spare motor with coils so maybe I'll try that first.

First, check the power transistor connectors, they like to turn green too. Make sure their clean and tight. Pay close attention to the connectors from the add on harness from the recall where it plugs into the main harness.

Second, If all is good there, swap coils with known good ones and see if they are getting spark.

Third, the injector connectors may be new but make sure the terminals on the injectors are clean.

I will know more today when I take a coil out of spare engine and plug it in with spark plug. this will tell me if it is coils or not. it just seems ironic that both would go.

yup, very ironic, you can also swap coil packs arousn from running cylinders and see if the problem moves with them

i replaced coils from my spare engine and what a difference when all 6 cly are fireing. it seems to be running fine now. i don't know if it is all the fresh connectors or a coil on its way out but it was definetly worth the time to change the connectors.thanks for help
