Eek! I yanked the engine today. This engine has been in this car since Nissan bolted it in there back in 1989. It is older than some of our members. In that time it has seen three owners. I have been maintaining it for 10 years. It has been through three turbos; stock, and S14 and finally this big *****, a T04EIt has been through two water pumps, a rebuilt alternator, three timing belts and it is on it's second radiator.I would still be running it today had the gasket not failed. That by the way is the original head gasket. 17 years of faithful service. It failed because of me, I must have encountered detonation due to lack of fuel and standard timing. The engine has no reason to be ashamed. It has over 162000 kilometers on it, over 100000 miles and many battles to tell of. I'm lazy, I left the transmission on so sue me! I'm working on cinder blocks here; pulling the box with that little amount of clearance is a *****. It's not impossible, I have done it, several times. That is the main reason I ain't doing it again, it sucks!those blades confirm my suspicion, I was running too lean. The perpetrator. This thing blew my head gasket. Well, I guess I kind of helped A tool is only as useful as the guy using it and I failed.Ah the possibilities. I definitely need to scrub the **** out of the engine bay and rattlecan it black before whatever is going back in there goes back in. I really want to run the wiring underneath to for a cleaner look.
The turbo kit is up for sale. See more here.
zerothread/277907 I am short of cash so for the moment the engine bay will remain empty.
