Stripped on the flange side, not inside the head right?

It really depends on how bad and where its stripped.

I guess the manifolds still on the car and you dont want to remove it... So your first option should be to heat up the head slightly, then take a pair of vice grips and tighten the sht out of them on the stud. Get as big of a bite with the grips as possible, then start easily wiggling the stud to the left, then right. Dont just go balls to the walls and twist it, it will most likely strip it even more. Just keep on going with that technique until you feel it break free.

When you get it out, you want to chase the threads inside the head with a tap. This way you can easily thread the new stud in there. If you dont do this, you wont be able to get the new stud in without taking the manifold off.

I'd take the mani off and do it right. I've seen to many shortcuts go bad...like possibly stripping the alum threads and having to drill and helicoil the head
