I have a "shimmy" in the front end at all speeds, can someone confirm my diagnosis?

This gone from noticeable to outright blatant in 2 days.

Theres a shimmy you can feel through the steering wheel and its definitely something in the front end. For those of you who know kind of what a wheel thats not balanced correctly, it kind of feels like that

except,

its at all speeds.

I'm thinking ball joints. My struts are new as of the last several months. Or maybe a tie rod end?

Any ideas? (yes I can feel this in a straight line as well)

Check your front tires for broken belts or big welts on the sidewalls.

after thinking about it again, thats what I'm checking first. because bad ball joints won't do what i'm describin. i've checked with my father and he said the same.

Try your tension rod bushings. My steering wheel does the same thing and thats the only thing I can see that needs replaced. Mine have cracks in them and can really be noticed when you jack the car up. If this is the case get some whitelines they are the best as far as bushings go IMO.

TC rods have been replaced.

Either way the problem is gone completely. I'm guessing that there was ice/snow build up in around one of the rims that unbalanced the wheel...and since it got a lot warmer recently...it fell/melted off.

thnx though fellas. :)

are you on stock rims? if you aren't then it could be that you need some centric (?) spacers for the hubs. my friend had a shimmy with his rims and add those and it went away.

edit++ hub centric or cetric? something along those lines.
