I have a safety/legal issue with my cars lighting. Will paypal for some help!!

I was pulled over a few days ago and a police officer brought to my attention that my foglight was illuminating as a turn signal.

I already knew my car had this problem, but didnt think my foglight switch was on.

Anyways, the problem is, when i turn my foglights on with the rotation switch on the turn signal stock, my drivers side fog comes on fine, but on the passenger side, the amber turn signal bulb (that is inside the foglight) illuminates instead of the foglight bulb.

Also when I turn the foglights on, on my dash cluster, the right arrow for my turn signals illuminates and stays lit until I turn the foglights off.

The turn signals still function fully though.

I checked the wiring and connections at the foglight and they are fine. I am kinda of stumped on what I can do to fix this problem.

Any help would be apprecaited, as I live on the mountain and the foglights are VERY helpful for night driving and Im not looking forward to the next big fog without having mine working.

I've got to chuckle at the avatar although not appropriate for the ~PG theme they strive for here.

In a car that didn't have altered wiring I would start by replacing the combination switch. In your case I have a feeling you have/had an aftermarket alarm that may have been tapped into the signal wire. Pull the lower kick panel and follow the wires under there looking for any cut altered or damaged wires.

Hey thanks for the reply steve, by combination switch do you mean the stock itself?

I cant find a part number for what you mean in the trade motion diagram, Id really like to get this fixed asap, as I had to drive in some decent fog last night and it sucks going around turns almost blind and having to go 10mph
