Okie dokie, today I decided to finally replace my valve cover gasket (not in class right now so laziness is at an all time high). Replace the gasket no probs, but is the top chain guide supposed to be plastic or metal? Feel like a tard for askin

ANYWAYS, chain guide looked fine so I left it alone, but i did notice that my car still has a rattle/tapping sound (not quite sure how to describe it). So I went ahead and grabbed the camera and made a quick little video..

NOTE: Its not this loud in real life, i noticed my motor sounds like a 747 on this video and the weird camera turning at the beginning is because i'm trying to aim the microphone part at the motor

interior shot was just to show that idle was sitting @ 750ish for video

YOUR PROBLEM AND SOLUTION!Timing chain guide. remove the top guide its of no use. DONT REMOVE the others!!!!!!there a DIY Search for itlastly no flamming intended but this is a common problem and many have fixed it before. _Search_

if thats not it check to se if anything is hitting off your fan or belts or check your fan pully assy. that happened to my Generator a while back till it broke right off... big mess after that. so if it the pully get it fixed asap

probably guides, i removed just the top one, (the one you can see right when you remove the valve cover) and it hasn't made that noise since.
