I have a question about the down pipe

since the turbo Im using has a 2" dia coming out of it and Ive read to go 2.5 or 3" for the exhaust. Is it ok to start with the 2"down pipe and then connect 2.5 after? I am ataching the picture of the turbo were the down pipe will start. Not sure if I explained myself.

2" is really small to me. if you can stick with at least 2.5"
