Hi all,

i know this is not related to this forum, but i would like to ask and share from your experience!

in the past few days i was surfing the net looking for a way to buy a salvage cars from the US.

so i figured out that there is something called COPART, which is like a salvage yards located all over the US.

and normal individuals like us cant buy only with license or through a brokers.

so i found 2 main brokers over the net:

easy export (ING Corp)

AutoBidMaster.

as you know, i am not from the united states, i live in Bahrain and the above brokers do arrange for shipping overseas.

anyone tried anyone of those? or does anyone recommend another broker? or perhaps a different way to buy and export a car from the states?

will appreciate your help.

are you trying to flip car or buying for immediate use? if it's the first then forget it, unless people don't care where you live on the car that you sell. best salvage car to buy, own or flip is theft; anything else is a disaster waiting to happen.

I wish I lived somewhere with more relaxed rebuild laws. I've seen some bargains on Copart. Maybe less of a bargain after paying the commission, but still.

JDMlove I work for a Salvage Auto Auction Website. Not Copart and not Manhiem. We are a smaller operation. These companies require a Dealers License, Salvage, or dismantlers license for tax purposes and the strict laws for damaged titles in the states. We have many clients that are exporters as well because once these cars are put in shipping containers and exported the Title is clean. Do you have an LLC, Inc., or Exporting license because many of these companies do accept these to be eligible for there sales. The down side of such services is that you have to pay a registration fee and each car has a buyers fee (price point of Sale price) and of course sale price. So most of our exporters buy damaged titles/salvage title cars and then sell them over seas as clear titles and that is where they make there money back. So if you looking for just a one off purchase of a car I do not recommend it because certain vehicles you can break even or loose money. If you are looking to start an export business and car dealer over seas you can make some money doing it. Not sure if this helped or not

I cannot thank you enough for clearing up a lifelong mystery for me!!! I have always wondered why most salvage wrecks sell for such high prices when here it's hard to sell a rebuilt car for much more. I owe you a beer.

My Pleasure. I've learned a lot here at my job. When I was looking for my M I was going to buy a Rebuild-able titled car and try to save a couple bucks. I am not against it you just have to know who does the work and trust them I guess. Being in Florida we have a ton of Rebuild-able and salvage vehicles but people just value there work too much and still overprice. Most lax law for Salvage/certificate of destruction vehicles is Kentucky. So if you are serious about buying Salvage and you have a problem registering and titling it Kentucky is the laxest. Can't transfer registration or title out of Kentucky on certain cars but if you know a buddy user there address and get it titled and registered in Kentucky.

Strghtedg, thank you for your explanation and help. i thought of buying a cheep 350z and rebuilt it in my country then use it for a few months a sell it with some profit.

i contacted companies like Easy Export and AutoBid Master. because of the fees & charges they take i dont think at all that i can make any profit!

so i forgot about the Idea!

salvage autos auction is best place for online trading for salvage car. It's service is so good with customer. They have made it easy to find great deals on auction cars that aren’t ordinarily available to the general public.

Stghtedg sounds like a fellow slav (Russian, Ukrainian, Belarussian, etc) lol.

I have many friends who do this type of work and all have licenses, but I doubt any of them would want to ship a car for you. That being said, they do use Copart, Manheim, Adesa Impact, etc.

I personally stay far away from auctions unless it's a clean title auction and the car has just body damage (like scratched fenders and basic fender benders).
