I have a 2004 Infiniti M45 and i just got my sound system installed yesterday. I didn't want a aftermarket deck put in because it would be to much work. So they had to put in a converter. My setup is a Rockford Fosgate T1000.1BD power amp with 2 12 fosgate P3 subs on 2G amp wiring kit and a 800amp gravity capacitor. But, lets get to the point if i turn the bass up to much my car lights start dimming and the music would go low then all of a sudden be high again like low high low high and also my car acts funny driving wise when the bass hits it would make my car jerk a little feels like a loss of power what should i do? is the amp to powerful for my car? i dont know what to do I spent a grip on the system and installation and i feel like its a waste of money because it doesn't function properly.... :wtf2:

I think you should list what stereo parts you installed, that way members can try to help you.

Hopefully you could help me out i didn't want to keep posting on your thread because you post has nothing to do with my post.

List of what's installed:
2G amp wiring kit
Stock Head Unit Converter
Gravity 800amp Battery Capacitor
Rockford Fosgate Power T1000.1BD Amp
2 12's Rockford Fosgate P3 Subs with dual ported box.

I'll take a shot:

I don't know what or how everything was installed but here is what I think:

1- you have a high powered amp
2- capacitor does nothing unless you have alot of them
3- Rockford box is wired for 1ohm

Your amp is pulling to much & because your sub box is set up as 1ohm.

It doesn't help that the M's have small batteries.

For starters I would re-wire the box to 2ohms, this will run your amp cooler and pull less power from your battery. Take the capacitor out and get your money back. If your battery is old buy a new one.

This will help but won't stop the problem.

yes your pulling to much power.

Yes installing a 2nd battery will help only if you seperate them. The main one for the car and the 2nd for your stereo

you can kill the 2nd battery and still be able to start the car with the main battery.

You may not want to hear this but your cap is not helping :tisk:

I've been dealing with systems for awhile. The cap isn't helping you at all. Capacitors are designed to deliver power on demand but only for an instance. It takes true power to hit low bass notes. The notes your can barely hear. Your cap will not able to keep up b/c once again it delivers power for an instance then must recharge. Upgrade your battery. I recommend Optima. The rest of the problem seems to be the strain on your alternator. As mentioned above the ohm load your running is pretty low. As long as all your items are wired correctly I don't think it will be a major issue. I have ran a .67 ohm load in my M with no problems. I hope I provided some insight for you good luck.
