There are no 5spd 240sx's within 300miles of my house, but there are a few autos. i plan on sawpping to a sr20det. what i need to know is if i should get an auto, and switch it over to manual when i get my sr, or should i travel and get the 5spd?

And how much trouble is it to switch from auto to 5pd?

search didnt help me to much.:aug2

i am doing exactly what you said. I have a 1990 HB with auto. I had to go out to the junkyard and get the parts nessesary from a manual , plus since i have the SOHC i needed to get some parts off a DOHC.

It might be easier now to get an auto, but it'll be harder in the end to do the swap. IMO, I'd wait until one pops up around you. That's what I did, I waited for almost 3 months before I found one.

How did you get around before you turned 16?

Either drive and pick up a manual, or get the auto and deal with the extra stuff.
