I just bought a 89 240sx the guy I got it from was in the middle of installing a ka24de into the car but never finished. O.K. so far I have replaced distibuter, wires, plugs, coil and new battery but I'm still not getting a spark. That's next!! PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!! :help

This may seem like a silly suggestion...but have you checked your ECU?

you need to figure out if the prior owner had done the ecm and wiring work to it. you will not get spark unless all the wiring was done. There is a substancial amount of rewiring to set the car up for the DE engine. I have not done this work myself so I cant really answer many of your questions regarding it but you will need both year service manuals to really go through it all.

Hey guys I just replaced the ecu and guess what ....... I got a spark YESbut it still doesn't start. So let me recap New: distibuter, coil, spark plugs, wires, battery,and ecu. So whats next.

P.S. god this lazy SOB didn't even tighten the motor mounts I'm going to have to yank the engine out and see if there're any good (the engine is sitting a little ****-eyed). Dam I'm glad I only payed $700 for it!!!!

if the spark is not an issue, you might not be getting fuel.

get a noid light and check for injector pulse.

found the problem bad gas. just changed out the gas and it started right up. Back fires like crazy.

P.S. I HATE RATS they made a home inside my muffler blew my pre-cat pipe (needed to replace it any way) to bits.

hey guys still have a problem. After that one and only time it back fired we changed the timing and it did not start at all! it still turns but will not start. what the hell is going on :help
