tire pressure? oil changes? aftermarket rims or intake? air filters clogged maybe, alignment , maybe there is some toe-in or toe out. aftermarket spoiler?bad cvt maybe? also I could be the fuel sensor thats out of wak. maybe you are getting good millage but the mpg gauge is wrong? there could be maybe a electrical leak because of the aftermarket sound system or leds or something thats making the alternator work overtime?coderedk wrote:i have a 2.5 cvt and ive always had bad gas mileage. since ive had the car ive always averaged between 20.9 and 21.1 mpg. i dont have a heavy foot and i consider myself a normal driver and i have reset my mppg digital reader many times before but still always the same result. i dont have an exhaust or intake and i dont have the engine modified watsoever. i know 2.5 a/c's that get well over 27mpg. what should i do to fix this????
unless it's 1000lbs i don't think a spoiler would change your average mpg.mcheddadi wrote:aftermarket spoiler?
If it's angled too much and causing lots of drag it could, doesn't need to be heavy08altima35 wrote:

wow really im gonna go outside and disconnect it right now and then ill let you guys know how that goes. i appreciate everyones input thanks guys. and btw does anyone know or have the thread where this worked?Hussain wrote:theres another thread about this but i dont know where it is and its like 6 months old.... i think i remember blake talking about it. anyways, if i can remember correctly the problem was solved by disconnecting the car battery for like 30 min and then reconnecting it and it reset the computer and the cars that had that issue started getting 30+ MPG...... its worth a try, not hard to disconnect and reconnect the battery
spoilers dont have a purpose besides being cosmetic....unless youre doing like 100+mphmcheddadi wrote:

I've looked all over and can't find the pedal procedure. Only the screwdriver method. I want to reset my ECU too cause I'm getting 21.8 mpg...LinkNuc wrote:Disconnecting the battery will not reset the ECU. It'll reset your radio though. There is a gas pedal sequence that can reset the ECU and it has been the same since my 2003 350Z, technosquare has that procedure on their website, Its also posted on a few other sites and probably here somewhere.
Unless something has changed with Gen 4 Altimas (gen 1 Coupes) disconecting the battery will not reset the ECU.
Nevermind, I found it!michaelthepsycho wrote:I've looked all over and can't find the pedal procedure. Only the screwdriver method. I want to reset my ECU too cause I'm getting 21.8 mpg...
