tonight, on my way home from hanging out with my friends, i was on the main road and a bike pulled up next to me. revved a little, so i looked over and decided why not, i went with it and raced him. we raced on and off for awhile.

all comes to all, i got into the turning lane and waved bye to the bike, and found that a cop was directly behind me

i turn and next thing i know the cop turns his lights on, i was ****ed. i pulled over and turned the car off. the cop walked right up to my window and the first words out his mouth was " so, was that fun!?" i replied "not really, especially since im the one pulled over" then he replied "so you know why i pulled you over?" i told him "i have an idea but im not sure", he asked what i thought and i just told him "not sure, but you are the officer, so whatever you say, goes" he told me to take the keys out of the ignotion and throw them on the dash, and place my hands on the wheel and not to move. and "I had to do 130mph to catch up to you, you were racing that bike, and i seen watched the whole time"

he took my lic., regi, and insurance and walked back to his car.. i sat in my SR powered 240sx for about 15mins, wondering whats going on. he finally came back to my car and asked me to step out and walk around to the back of the car. at this point i was ready to get cuffed and locked up. he then told me "well, Mr. ___, i have some good news, and bad news, the good news is, im not taking your *** to jail, the bad news is, im giving you a ticket, sign here"

i told him im not signing anything until its fully explained to me, he then explained "i am not going to write you up for racing, or excessive speed, or endangering the lives of others, but im writing you a ticket for your modified exhaust and you must have it paid within 30days"

.... i couldnt thank him enough, and i did tell him i know i was wrong, but wow, how lucky am i to get off the hook with that, he told me if he was to ticket me for what i should have been ticketed for, i would not only be in jail right now, my car would be compounded, and i would have been fined well over $700, not including bail, which would have been another close $500.

he was a young guy, but i really cant thank him enough for what he did, if it was any other offiecer, i would be jailed right now, and my car would be gone, not to mention i wouldnt see the streets for a long time.. i am so happy, i had to shake his hand and thank him a million more times.

if you are ever pulled over, be very polite, thank him no matter what, i even thanked him for writing me a ticket, ti doesnt matter what he says, thank him for it, either way he is right in the end, even if you think hes not... its his word vs yours.

now, also i think that the only reason i got away with it, was because he had no proof of my speeds, let alone that i was racing, because i never really admited it.

with this night over, i am a very lucky guy and found a new respect for officers, i always thought each and every one of them were out to get us, but i have been proven wrong with a second chance

130+? How fast were you going? Man! Every time I used to drive from Palm Bay/Melbourne to Miami, I'd go RIGHT AT the speed limit through St Lucie. Those cops get A LOT of people. You got very lucky indeed.

honestly, im not gunna lie, i have no clue, but i know i was going pretty damn fast, i mean if he had to do 130 to catch up, and he watched the full race (which was pretty long, considering the distance traveled.. we had to have been flying

teh awsome man. Same thing happened to me in my corolla. We weren't going 130+ but 80 in a 50. This was in california the cop gave me a speeding ticket and that was it.

He liked my car i guess. He was done with me first which was weird :P

thing is i doubt i was even going that fast... i think he just had to pull out of his hiding spot and by the time he got out we were so far ahead, which caused him to floor it and keep going.... thats the only thing that would make me think he would have to go that fast... i mean hell, i really doubt we hit speeds past 100, IF THAT

Cops have a sucky job so i try not to be an *** when they pull me over, especially when they got me dead to rights screwing up. I meet the occasional prick but for the most part if you treat them with courtesy you get some slack.

Each and every cop is different, I mean, they're people too. When I was in high school, there was a cop that was a prick and ARRESTED me for under-age smoking (a cigarette). My first speeding ticket, I not only got pulled over, I agreed to being searched (they found nothing, because I had nothing), and made me take a breathalizer and sobriety test (all over speeding and improper lane changing, and I got off on the lane changing). Another cop was real nice, who wrote me a ticket for going 48 in a 35, I told him I was in a rush to catch a movie, and he told me he understood, didn't let me off because it was the end of the month and he had to fill his quota, but he only took like a total of 4 minutes of my time and was very nice and very prompt. A female cop let me off with going 5 over and making a right turn at a red without coming to a complete stop. And last week my friend got off with just an improper lane change when he blew a .016 (he's only 20). So, be nice to the cop even if he/she is not to you, never know what can happen.

just got the 95' and was testing it out one night recently. Got pulled over in one of my favorite shortcuts by a lady cop. She didn't have her radar on but she guessed I was doint 80-85 in a 45 zone. (dead stretch of road) Very good guess cause I was clocking 82. Anyway, because of no radar she wrote me up for not having a tag on the front and rear of the car. (here in Maryland).

Shoot, I'll take that. A $55 ticked it better than almost doubling the speed limit. -leo

similar thing happened to me in Northern Arizona.

Been driving all day from San Diego, anyone whose driven through the Mojave desert knows that drive takes forever. I was trying to get to Flagstaff so, I could catch some shut eye for the night and doing about 110 on I-40 (70mph limit). Cop lights in my rearview, I pulled over. Asked me to get out and walk to the back of the car where he handcuffed me. Explained to me about Arizonas 'Criminal Speed' law where they can haul you off to jail for going 20 over. He was also rattled about Elk or something. I explained that I just got discharged from the military and a veteran of war and I was just trying to get home to see my family. I got off w/ a 300 dollar ticket.

I think I wasted my once in a lifetime cop experience in Arizona

Wow that's a rare cop. I had the same thing happen to me before. My Girlfriend (who wsant at the time) was driving my integra like a mad-woman and she got pulled over for 80 in a 45. She didnt have her license so the cop told me to get out of the car and he took me around back and then told me he could easily arrest her but he said he liked imports and that if it was any other cop in town they would've excercised the law. I was quite grateful, but such a thing is rare.

most cops have been courtous to me, but never let me go with anything. I did get out of a speeding ticket with my cougar. BUt I honestly thought it wa s a35 and it was only a 25. I was not familiar with the town, and never saw the speed limit change sign.

I seem to be the only one with not so good experiences with cops . I did an ebrake slide in a wet and empty parking lot, car rotated about 270* and when I was leaving the parking lot hit a 3" deep puddle and began to hydroplane so I slid across the road a little. The guy pulled me over and since it was raining, called on his loud speaker and made me keep getting out and going to his car. Kept me for nearly an hour (caught me around midnight.) he didn't do any breathalizers or anything, I think he was showing off to someone who he was driving around, "watch how much trouble I can cause this kid." Then he gave me a ticket for careless driving, which I though was extreme considering my "crime," waiting for him I was sure I was just gonna get a warning. In the end I got out of it scott-free thanks to pulling a favor from a lawyer! I had to do 10 hours of community service, and I did it at a recycling center which was actually fun cause I got to run the compactor on the dump truck, and play golf with D batteries. I know cops have a tough job to do, I respect them for it. But sometimes I just wish they wouldn't seem like they were picking on me. Cops around here target boys though. My friend, who is sort of a goody-goody type that would NEVER do anything illegal got a ticket for 25 over because he went through a school zone at the normal speed limit a few minutes before the lights went off.

Has anyone tried to escape a cop before he turned the lights on? Once a cop pulled out right behind me when I going a bit fast. He was so close to my bumper I thought there was gonna be an accident. We got to a busy 4-way stop with him still behind me and I was like S*** S*** S***. So when it was my turn I pulled through the intersection and when I went around a curve and was out of sight of him I tore off like a bat outta hell. I went a mile or so down the road and turned (squealing tires and all) off onto a side road, didn't see the cop again. I was still scared for about a month I was gonna get a ticket in the mail or something.

Anyone noticed that girls seem to get off a lot by crying? I know girls that have got pulled over 4 or 5 times and got out of every one. Others that were going 20+ mph over and got off. Maybe I should start carrying a wig in my car...

theres no such thing as underage smoking, if youre underage its illegal to buy but not illegal to smoke cigarettes.

anyway my friend had a deal like that one time, the road was changing from one lane to two, and he pulled us over for going into the second lane and crossong the white line by about 6 inches, then he got mad when we all blew goose eggs. actually that part was pretty funny.

at the same time i know a few cops who are really cool, they tell me stuff to watch for and if theyve told me if they ever caught me speeding, but moving with traffic, and they really wanted to pull someone over, they would go after someone else. its good that they live so close because they can recognize my car.

well it's like the cops over here all get girls, cuz, your'e supposed to trust cops right? gat girls piled up in the squad car talkin all kinda nastiness to them (happened to a close friend of mine) lolthey needed a ride bad and the cop tried to get a piece of leg. She said it was obvious it worked for him b4 lolthat's 1 reason I'd become a cop lol but I don't need to be one cuz...

hmmph. All l need is a bluebird (read:car) with some tints, rims, and a lil bass in da trunk and I am laid lol

but girls over here are the worst! they act all innocent askin for a ride an when they reach their "destination" they ask if u wanna have sex ...and if ya say no they demand money or threaten that they'll scream rape! (happened to a co-worker at my summer job!)

why does none of this stuff happen to me ? well I don't wanna get pulled over...lol

My friend and i just got off work and were going to my house. And my friend was driving his rodeo. Before I continue I have to tell ya he drives nuts, I mean just plain crazy. Anywho, We were on this road were there should be a passin zone and there isn't , but my friend desides to pass this white expodition . So he passes him and every thing 's fine and all the sudden he says"That guy must not have liked it that much cause he's comin up on us fast". I turn around just in time to see red and blue lights comin from under the grill. So he pulls over. The officer tells him he would hate to see his insurance go up and and since you haven't gotten a ticket before i'll let you off with a warning

So let me give you word of advice, don't pass white expoditions in VA with a "L" on the licence plate

Man you are so lucky, If i did it in one of the towns around Tulsa here in oklahoma called Jenks which is where my highschool and stuff is, the cops here would have killed me on the spot. I got a $203 down here in jenks for chirping my tires in sand when i just started getting used to standard. I ended up doing community service for it. : /

community service is probably the best way to get out of a ticket. Like I mentioned above, I got 10 hrs for a careless driving ticket. And for those 10 hrs, I had no fine (except court costs) and the ticket wouldn't be recorded. The places almost didn't want me with so few hours, it was a waste to train me to do anything. But one guy I was working with had like 700 hours, I felt bad for him...

!!! HAHAHA... DAMMMNNN that has to suck... i remember my friend had like 80hours and it took him forever to finish, even cheated some hours by making friends with the guys that signed the papers, and it still took awhile for him to finish, i could never see 700hours

yeah thay guy had some issues. I think he was doing 100+ in a 55 and drunk or something like that. They let him do CS cause he couldn't afford the $1000's in tickets he got. He got at least 4 or 5 tickets (speed, reckless, dui, and some others.) His wife had to pick him up and drop him off. When I was there he was working like 11 hour days trying to finish (probably ~40 hours a week outside his job.) He had already been working there for a few months and only was about half done. He was a cool guy though, he had a relavtively good attitude about it.
