Ok....today was nice out so I decided to work on my car. I wanted to diagnose my horn issue which ended up being a bad relay. And I wanted to mount my s-afc. I also went ahead and put some het shrink around the main battery wire that enters the engine compartment.
Well after all was done I decided to crank her up. 1st thing I noticed was that my throttle and a/f percentage was zero on the safc. I drive down the street and it doesnt want to go over 3 grand without stumbling. I brought it back to the house.
I checked the ground and power into the ecu and all good. I also checked the maf and tb plugs and they both seem ok.
2 things that I noticed is that when I disconnect the tb plug the engine cuts off. usually the revs go up. And when I unplug the maf nothing happens. I covered the screen on the maf with a rag and nothing. So I know something is wrong with the maf. There is a lil smoke coming out the tail but nothing crazy.
The car drove fine for over 3 months until I messed with it today. Im thinking that disconnecting the battery had something to do with it. I would have continued to look over my car more but it got dark. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

oh yea.... If I peg the accel pedal to the floor at a stand still the rpms stop at 2.5 rpms and builds boost. almost like a delayed 2 step. Im assuming the computer is retarding the timing when this happens.

I've heard of limp mod but never experienced it before. Went out side and changed the settings for hotwire and nothing happened. Its like the comp isnt responding to the safc. What do I need to do to get out of limp mod. Ill use the search button in the mean time.

You have a series 2 motor set or ecu...you have to jump power to the CEL to retrieve codes.

I found the problem. Seems that when I was relocating the safc I pulled a lil to hard. At the end of all the wires there is a plug. That plug, plugs into the board thats inside the safc. I had to seperate it in order to plug it back up.
I also fouled out my plug since the car wasnt picking up the maf. Cleaned plugs and all good.
