I suppose I need to say "Thank You" for this.audtatious wrote:Extended warranties usually don't cover struts. I'd replace them all and be done with it.
Good luck
Hope so, but you can never tell. Most of the extended warranties I've seen cover engine and drive train components but not parts like brakes, struts, etc. Good luck with itAZ-J wrote:

I just hope you are incorrect. We'll see...
Be sure you aren't getting scammed. There are stories of people going in for certain things then, OMG! you need new struts, transmission e.t.c. because they shot some type of oil on the part that needs "replaced". Clean off the strut, see if it leaks anymore. If it doesn't you're safe. If it does then it does need replaced. If it really were blown you'd feel a difference in the ride as well.AZ-J wrote:I just took my car in for a free look at the brakes. Those are fine, but it is clear one of my struts is leaking.
Has anyone else have such an issue and how was it resolved?
What do you mean by that it is "clear" one of your struts is leaking? Did you look at it yourself while the car was on the stands? Or did they just tell you that? I agree with Red Devil. I do not trust most shops unless I know them extremely well. Even then, I want to be shown directly what they saw. FredAZ-J wrote:I just took my car in for a free look at the brakes. That is pretty solid evidence for sure!AZ-J wrote:I know I was not being scammed, as I was the one that wiped the oil off the strut and said "what's this?" while I was being shown what was left on my brake pads. Yes, the car was on a lift, with the wheels off. And there was a lot of oil on that strut, and none on the other three. I have not felt the car "bottom out" yet, but I know that strut is not working correctly from the "feel" of the car.
