I have a KA24E, can I buy a KA24de head and bolt it on? Will it line up?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

it will work, you will need to make a plate to seal up the front though. Search for "high compression ka" for enlightenment on the subject

Its supposed to work and Its been done, but I dont think anyone has just dropped the head on, all the threads from people who attempted it turned into long running q&a about trouble shooting...athough they did bring up some usefull information that would probably be real usefull if you go ahead with it.good luck, it would be nice to hear more about this engine if you get it all together.

It has been done once to completion in a Datsun. The guy doing it seemed to have a lot of experience. But he sold the car and started working on a 510 with an RB motor in it I think.

There may have been an Altima as well....

Most of the problems people had didn't seem to be related to the head swap so much as not hooking something up correctly with their timing or injectors. I may be reading into it to much and be wrong though so you'll just have to read the old posts for yourself.
