i have a 1995 nissan altima ant it does not start all the time. i came out of work and it started up and ran for about 30 sec. then it would not start. it did not seem like a fuel problem because it just shut off. it did not sputter or missfire like it was running out of fuel. i have aa light that hooks up to the spark plugs to see if i am getting fire. every time i hook it up the car starts up and runs fine. it seem like it is a cold start problem but i am not sure yet. i am letting it sit for a while with the spark tester hooked up to see if it does it while it is cold. to day i took off the cap to look at it and the rotor. i saw where it was burn a little bit so i put a new cap, rotor, spark pluges, and plug wires. i got the car home now. if any one knows anything to help me out. if you could please let me know. thank you very much for reading this.

no it the battey is fine. when it shuts off all the lights in the cluster come on like as if you had the key in position 2. i wish it was the battery that would be easy to figure out.

i went out tonight to start it. i had the spark tester hooked up and the car started. it ran fine for about 2 mins. then the car tried to shut off. i was watching the spark tester and the light went out. the it cam back on when tghe car smoothed out. then i took the wire comming off the coil pack and grounded it to the valve cover and cranked over the motor. it sparked but did not seem to be very strong. i was watching it as i was cranking and it did not spark all the time. i am knew to this site i am tryiing to figure out how everything works.
