Ok it's true I have a bug, a disease, an affliction...

I cannot Get the M35X out of my mind! It is affecting my work, my home life and most of all my sanity...

I was first infected about three months ago whilst searching for an AWD vehicle that wasn't a Subaru. Mind you I like the Legacy GT and the WRX/STIs and all that the are. However I just Want something... more. And as for the other options, well we all know why they aren't good enough.

I currently drive a 1999 Lincoln Continental, so the luxury bug is already firmly implanted in me. I wanted more performance than the Continental can offer. As the miles pile on the Lincoln (171000) I am feeling imminent monetary damages are soon to be done to my wallet. Transmission, CV axles, Steering System, Air Suspension, Struts, Front End, Etc... to the tune of 4-6k. so I started researching better more reliable car (payments).

I came across the G but didn't like the front end, and the tight quarters, so I kicked it up a notch and found "my next car" the M35X!!!

After researching the car extensively I found this awesome forum, and continued the search for more info. Ahh a GOLDMINE!

Well anyways I am stuck in a rough spot here folks, I want a very fully loaded M35X, Silver, black interior, also a spoiler if possible. and all for, well the best price I can find.

I keep looking but alas, none to be found quite as I wish, and for the right price.

So back to the bug. I cannot get this DANG CAR off my mind, and I was hoping that some of you had been through this and had some suggestions as to how to cope.

I jest ( I know the only way is to buy the darn thing and then I will feel much better)

So those who are looking to buy, this is the official support forum/thread, those who have, you have the penicillin for this bug and I ENVY YOU!!!

Glad to hear it?!? It kind of hit me the same way. I was looking for an AWD car coming from a truck, and I needed enough room for a carseat (or two). I went to Home Depot and pulled up next to this gorgeous car. I loved the center console, but hated the wood trim (as I was 29.... not 69), but loved the car. I wrote down the name since I had never SEEN this car before. Started researching and found this site. I went through Carmax, because they have a bunch of cars across the country and they can ship the one you want for cheap. Mine came from Atlanta, because it had the right color combo and mileage for the price. Have fun with your addiction.

The wood is an "older" taste, but I love the way it looks withe the black interior. I would swap for the metal if I had to get one with the lighter interior. But I will get the black interior, with wood, when I find one fully loaded.

Peace

What year M35's are you hunting for? 06', 07', & 08' models? If you will have a passenger with you for the most part, you might want to look for 07' and up as the 06' model M's have a limited adjustment on the passenger seat. They fixed this issue on the 07' & up models. Also, look for one with the advanced technology pkg minimum so you can enjoy your audio system. The 14 spk 5.1 surround sound Bose audio system sounds pretty nice, but the standard Bose system is very lacking in sound quality.Plus the premium pkg gives you lane departure warning and lazer guided cruise control that automatically keeps your cars distance from the person in front of you. Cool feature, but can be annoying if used in heavier than normal highway traffic. If you want the spoiler, you need to find a M35X with the Aerodynamic package. The M's do look so much better with this complete package.

Good luck on your search! Remember, patients pays off in the end!

I've been looking for the FULLY LOADED M for about three months and I can wait as long as it takes, yeah I want the 07 but If the seat is all that changed I don't care that much. My girlfriend has sat in an 06 and was comfy, God gave her some extra cushion in the seat. So for the money and 06 would do, but I'd take an 07 if I found one Just right.

Again, Silver, Black interior, Wood, ALL the options, Aero pack. and I'll get a warranty from Courtney at Infiniti Scottsdale. If anybody sees one just like this PM me please.

Keep Feedin me my medicine folks, Every Post Helps (HA HA)!

I was at work and forgot to add to my post that I now love the wood trim.

I would Consider the M45X but they only made them 08 and later so they are really rare used right now. And they cost A LOT more, so far as I can tell by the ones I have found.

I can afford the 06-07 M35X at 18k-30k. But the 08 M45X is 45K or more and most are brand new still. So that is just a bit above where I want to be.

But If I was to change my mind and wait a year or two yeah I could get one. I need the cure for this bug sooner than that or it might become terminal.

Why not pick up a 06-07 M45? Just a few hundred dollars more than the 06-07 M35X

Yes, it is RWD, but for Illinois there are only like 14 really bad snow days.

From my experience, the electronic nannies (VDC, traction control) work flawlessly. Add a good set of snow/winter tires and you're all set!

PS: In my 8 years of owning 3 different Nissan Maxima's & now Infiniti M45, I can attest to the fact that Nissan has NEVER let me down. It is a good bug to have.

Well: February and Illinois = a road trip. I found the best selections in the Los Angeles area. A one way flight is maybe $250. Fly out, pick it up and drive it back. Or ship it for maybe 500 or 600 bucks.

The car will be in pristine shape as no winters and mild climate means no rust underneath and perfect paint and rubber trim.

Huge slections; I bought mine out there because of that. Check AUtoTrader and Cars dot com. Good Luck.

Also -- there are 4 Inifiniti dealers in the metro Phoenix area, so do a quick search there as well. Then come out and enjoy some sunshine. It was sunny and 84 today. Needed sunblock to finish up my golf game today.

Remember I live in FAR northern Illinois, 1 mile from Wisconsin, we normally don't have too bad of winters, but this year and last year were doozies, and I think we are in for more. I don't believe/disbelieve in global warming per-se, but I do see a trend of worse weather each year as they go by. I also thought the awd handled better, and was a bit faster in the game (?#$%&*!) I'll re check my research but I guess I could reconsider if I had a chance to drive one.

EDIT: I didn't see that you lived in Chicago, Max, til i posted... so you know what the weathers been like round here.

If you can handle a 1999 Lincoln Continental, you will be just fine in a M45!

Haven't driven a Lincoln but did drive a Cadillac STS V8 RWD and the all new CTS RWD. Both were pathetic even in rain/wet conditions. Heck even the STS-4 (AWD)...you could easily break the rear tires lose by just turning off the traction control. Some "AWD"...

It is not very well known but the Continentals from the 90s or so on were front wheel drive, based off the Ford Taurus platform. Having a V8 over the drive wheels, it does handle very well in the snow. I can drive rear wheel in winter I used to be a NAPA delivery driver in western michigan, and had to drive a Chevy S15 with a stick all winter long, I just want the AWD.

If any who have driven both AWD and RWD versions of the M35 and M45 want to weigh in as to the differences in performance and fun in corners as well as winter driving, I would love to hear what the real people out there think not just what the reviews say.

I test drove both the M35x, M35 and M35 Sport and like the way the RWD performed better then the AWD. Just preference and it was only for a short 15-20 min. Ended up buying a M35 Sport. I'll be moving from LA back to NJ in the next year and I'm pretty sure that the RWD will not give me any problems at all. The Tri-State area usually only sees about 5 or so bad snow days (although I've heard this year was an exception), so I figured I'll enjoy the RWD the other 360 days a year!

Hi...I have not driven a RWD M35 or 45, but I can tell you the AWD M35x I have is frickin sweet in a Minnesota winter. I live in the Minneapolis area and cannot believe the difference between my M35x (even with the crappy RSAs still on) and my FWD 2002 Maxima (with snow tires). The M35 is far and away better even though I drove my Maxima with snow tires all winter. I have also driven RWD cars and just don't feel as comfortable in Minnesota winters as I do in this car. I have had no issues at all. I would love the additional power of the V8 M45, but since there wasn't an AWD model offered, I decided to go with the M35x and I have not been disappointed. I love this car....
