Car and Driver reported the 0-60 time to be 6.7 for an NA 300zx. I tested mine, with 95k miles on and ran a 7.1, with bigger wheels and tires than stock. No it's not fast, but I'm not out to race everyone on the street either. It handles well enough to be in the top 3 at my local autocross events and is plenty fun on a road course. You don't need blistering 0-60 times to have fun in a car.

Bottom line: Enjoy what you have. Make it handle well. Make it look good. Save for a TT swap if you need more power.

Turbo it... thats the only you will really see any time difference at the track... you will see like mabey .2 sec. other wise.. but i have a whole engine rebuild with tons of proformence parts from egr delete to lightweight flywheel and headers gutted cats... and so on .. there is nothing else i can really do to my car except turboing it witch i am going to do when i get more $ but my car still runs around where stock.. a little faster but not much.. if you wanted to spend somemoney though i would get megan headers, egr delete and a pully.. its all cheep and you can instal them your self so it will save money! but it is better to just save your money for the turbo. i am either going with the T72 turbo witch it the supra turbo and i am going to mount it in the rear with the 2 manafold pipes going into one or the stock twin turbo..

oh and also take out the spare tire thats alot of extra weight.. it would probley be cheeper to sell your car and buy a TT for like the same price as it would to put a turbo in it..

......to state something that we all already knew.

VG30DE = 222 BHP (horsepower at the crank)VG30DETT = 300 BHP (horsepower at the crank)

RWD cars lose approximately 15-20% of their power through parasitic loss of the drivetrain (transmssion, driveshaft, differential, axles, wheels)

We were saying that 220 RWHP (rear wheel horsepower) is highly modified for an N/A, and that money would be better spent on a TT engine.

Research your info before you bump a 4 month old thread...

Well I am from the country in Florida and my car is plenty fast for me, My brother just raped a Mustang gt the other day with it. its all about the driver. and who cares about the 1/4 if you never go to the track, just find a dirt road and drift like a boss. and I heard someone say the car is a pig at 3300? all the Fast cars I've ever been around are closer to 4000lbs, But all I'm around is American V8s. Ya'll have fun dropping more money into your cars than I paid for mine. I'm gunna put my money into the body, rims, exhaust and Stereo.

Not to keep this thread going any longer than it needs to, but my vert in still n/a and im in no hurry to change that. Cold air intake, stillen exhaust, z1 ecu. Thats all I need to be happy. Oh and light weight wheels with big a** tires makes the bit of extra power more controlable. In my opinion paying around 10k for an engine swap isnt worth it right away.

Now to all of you other die hard tt drivers... dont get me wrong I love my 2nd z (tt) just as much. But I prefered saving up and buying a 2nd car over swapping the engine out. Seems more logical to me and for the same price. :bigthumb:

Oh dear god. I'm so through with this thread.

Street racing is for f***. Drifting dirt roads if for guys who can't bust the wheels loose otherwise. You shouldn't be doing that crap except on a track anyways.

This thread is going nowhere fast. N/A's are quick enough to be fun. They're not fast. I don't care how much you want it to be. If you want to play with the big boys, go TT.

Locked.
