YES you can, that's why it's 4 "HI" .

yup for sure but check the manual, i think 60 mph is the fastest it recommends-and by the way it will get crappy gas mileage in 4hi, at least mine does so i dont use it unless i have to.

it sure does get crappy gas mileage. like 16 on the highway!! lol well just wanted to make sure becaue i dont want to damage my transfer case since that would be one heck of a repair bill!

My 2001 Pathfinder had lots of highway miles on it, and i had it on 4Hi going 70+ mph on gravel roads, and on winter roads. Nothing ever went wrong .

You can but I think its only up to 50 or 60 mph..or at least thats what the manual says..

Which takes more gas, 4Hi or 4Lo? What is the true difference in them besides that one if for snow and gravel roads and one is for heavy snow or gravel roads..LOL

4 hi has a wider gear ratio so u can go faster ad 4 low is really short gearing and it allows that vehicle to use most of the engine for braking and power is distributed 50/50. with 4 low engage u can't go faster than like 20 or 30 mph on most vehicles. i know i can be in third gear doing 15 mph reving at like 4000 rpm. so yeah its very low

Mechanically it doesn't matter what speed you're going when in 4HI, but the transfer case does care what surface you're on when turning. You don't want to be in 4HI (or 4LO for that matter) and round a corner on pavement.
