I should note that I have a SERIOUS intolerance for bad singers. Bad vocals are easily the best way to ruin a song.
There are bad voices and then there are bad singers. And then there are bad singers with bad voices. Geddy Lee is the in the third category. Neil Young is in the first category: a great singer with a horrible voice. Tom Petty's another good singer with a horrible voice.
But Geddy Lee is just a mess. If he'd shut up for a second I might be able to hear the music.
Hell, even Robert Plant pisses me off sometimes with his weird sex noises and screaming nonsense in the middle of good music.
Music is just best without bad singing.

This is simply not true. Because one of the things Rush is known for is the time signature change-ups they do in just about every song they have...
I played around with Google a bit, and it turns out I was wrong. I never heard much that was interesting from them on the radio, so I assumed there wasn't much better out there but then I always get after people who say they don't like Zepplin because all they've ever heard is Stairway and Rock and Roll, so I should probably STFU. Fans usually pick something less well-known and more interesting (and thus less popular) as a favorite.

You're probably right. Again I blame the radio: everything I've ever heard from them has sucked, so I expect more suck if I explore further.
