So driving up towards country side today.

I needed a haircut at the local mall. drove up into the mall. parked. got out. haircut. chik fil a. food. yum. walk back out to car.

WT:LKJ@$)(F)*F FHQWHGADS!!?

transmission fluid everywhere except in my transmission. all over teh concrete all over anything. but no trail leading up to my parking spot....?? this is rather odd. almost as if the car overheated or something and blew out a front seal. that's waht i figured it was. called a friend. met up 2 blocks away. (that's all she had in her) from there i was able to inspect damage. couldn't really see where exactly it was coming from. still figured it was leaking form the front pump seal.

pour 3 quarts in. 1 quart empties out as im pouring it in. jesus.

limp car to shop.

inspect.

BIG FRIKKIN HOLE 1!!!!How in the hell?? I have no clue. a hole the diameter of a dime was in my transmission oil pan (auto 1989 hatchback 200bucks)So whatever. i have to pull this stuffs apart. drop the pan, clean the tarded thing off and start welding it up. Never exactly welded an oil pan before. It's not taht difficult with the tig. Thank goodness i knew how to weld, because otherwise i wouldn't have a car right now. With the oil pan now holding fluid, 6 quarts of dextron 3 (tahts all we had lyaying around) and she was back in business. total time setback: 6 hours. i had stuffs i was supposed to do today, and the stupid random thing that put a hole in my pan f'ed it all up. Oh well, it happens, nobody got hurt, except for when i burned myself finding the hole.mental note:Transmission pan temperature when hot is roughly equivalent to the temperature of the sun.

thank you, this day sucked, have a nice evening.

so there was no trail leading up to the puddle and no object visble on the road under your car but you have a dime sized hole in the pan. I ain't Perry Mason but i think the question you should be asking is who have you pissed off recently? All the facts add up to human intervention unless you parked on a fragment of dark matter and a dime sized chunk of your oil pan appeared in a parking lot in a parallel universe. Somebody put that hole there man.

Well, whatever you do, don't try gum. I had a claim years ago where a kid lost his drain plug on the road somewhere. He tried to say someone must have vandalized his car by removing it. Come to find out when we inspect it, the car has gum residue around the hole. When I question him about it, he explains that he tried to plug it with gum to get home. He ends up losing all his oil and then siezes his motor. The claim was denied as it was mechanical failure based on very poor maintenance. Kinda sad, but kinda funny since he did it to himself.

See, in order to properly use the duct tape you would have to wipe off the transmission...and then try to wrap the duct tape ALL the way around the transmission...you might want to make a duct tape plug of sorts for the hole and then duct tape the plug to the pan. Ok, back to reality...was it a really clean hole or all ripped up?

HAHAHAHAH!!!!!! Technical support on using duct tape to fix a busted transmission pan!!!!

that is some funny shiz yo!

And about the other statement about "somebody not liking Mattback" that is entirely possible because I don't think that many people *do* like him :D

lol, j/k man...

No no, its true.:) its all good though, i know the sharpness of his attitude first hand, and i can see how he could piss off a lot of people. but i forget and forgive easily. i would have looked for other stuff around, i.e the piece that was missing, unless it was punchtured inwards. unless you either A) parked on dark matter like TMS said, or B) hit a very large bump in the road where a jagged rock was, you are probably looking at vandalism. if it happens again, you'll know it wasnt some rock or stick.

you should cover up the underside of your car with teflon. That way, next time someone attacks the underside of your car, whatever they're using will just slide off, scratching the bottom of your car, making it impossible to fry an egg without leaving that horrible residue on the bottom of the pan.
