Been dealing with an ongoing leak on my Koyo 2-row radiator. The plastic drain screw in the bottom started leaking a tad bit a couple months ago. About once per month, I'd snug it a little tighter and go on.

Today, it's a steady drip...drip...drip...drip...drip...drip...

Solution? Well, first attempt was JB STICK, supposed to be water proof, can seal up the Hoover Dam from below and all that jazz.

I followed the directions thoroughly (something I never do) to make sure I got it right this time, plugged a chunk into the drain hole, leaving the existing drain plug in there. Got a nice uniform seal all the way around. No more drips, no more antifreeze leaking, everything is good.

After letting it bake for an hour (because the instructions say it cures in 1 hour), I start the car, back it out of the garage and look for leaks.

drip.........................................drip.....................................................drip...............................

So, I packed some more around it, and I'll leave it for a couple hours. Hopefully this will seal it up.

Had I been thinking properly when I first got the radiator a couple years ago, I would have had my buddy just tig weld the hole shut before I even installed it.

Grrrrr.

Yeah, that didn't work.

I ended up drilling out the old plastic bits of the plug (and digging out all that JB crap) and threading in a bolt, washer and rubber washer.

Good as new...well, better.

Try draining your coolant(somehow). Jb weld is water proof if there is no water at the time of seal. We did that to a guys radiator without draining it first and it did the same thing. The coolant would slowly leak.

It's all fixed now. I just threaded a bolt (M10x1.0) with a steel washer against a rubber washer into the hole. It's all good now.
