(originally i thought that SCC wrote the article. As it turns out, it was Super Street. I appoligize to all who are concerned, however now i hate Super Street.)

Thats just my opinion. These guys piss me off, or at least the guy that wrote the article about their project silvia in the most recent issue. (Super Street)This guy is making fun of people just getting into the silvia conversions.....good job jackass....your project isn't even done yet. IT DOESN't RUN, and you are making fun of people who started their project AFTER you and have already finished it. PLUS the body work on the S15 conversion SUX. There is about an inch gap between the fender and the front bumper.

AND if you guys are SO FAR AHEAD of the pack...why don't you throw an RB in a 240sx?Isn't the point of the magazine to promote the industry? all you do is belittle the people that want to do the same type of conversions that you did (and did poorley i might add). So get off your high horse...if it's such a played out conversion, then why are you still working on it?

you guys are the SUCK

Yeah, I'm feeling better all the time about not renewing my subscription.

Are they doing an S15 front-end conversion on their Project Silvia (the one that already has an S13 front end and the GT28R turbo)? Or are you talking about a different project car of theirs...

the car they are doing is an S14 with an S15 conversion. They want to race time trials with it...so they put 18" rims on it....are they going to "bling" the other cars off the track? And their original rear tires didn't fit because they rubbed the rear suspension...so they used smaller tires....why not use wheels with the correct offset?!?!?!anyway, they are the suck

SCC is by far the best of the import magazines, or all car magazines for that matter. It's the only import magazine to not put in nasty girls with bad teeth and SEMA and all that nonsense.

They're definitely better than the others (super street, import tuner, etc, ad nauseum), but what they're doing with this definitely sucks.

I read SCC, but it's definatly not the best car mag out there, it's meerely entertainment. You want some good, informative, and interesting mags, check out Grassroots, Road and Track, Automobile, AutoWeek, stuff like that. They are much more into the car, and less about the scene.

so SCC is the best car magazine ever? I'm sure thats not true. However, i do feel that they are better than most import rags. unfortunatly this story is just useless. they can't make their mind up with what they are doing with this car. Next article they'll prolly through some subs in the trunk...that will obviously improve their track times. And yes...they DID say they where building the car for time trials, that must be why they installed a headunit speakers, and an amplifier...

I missed where he said "all car magazines."

I've never really read Grassroots but I keep hearing people talk and talk and talk about it. I should pick up a copy next time I'm at the bookstore...

Grassroots does rock. Check out Road and Track Speed, its their tuner car issue. As for SCC have they ever built a car themselves? The only thing a can remember is the turbo kit they put on the Hondu that blew up because they didnt use a boost gage. They are all jouralist, and the last time I checked you dont take your car to a magazine editor to have it repaired. Read some of the older hot rod mags. The guys there at least work on their own ****e.

dave coleman seems to kno what he is talking about and when all the mags did that track day the silvia and he took first place. And the car only made 270 hp or so.

I am a long time subscriber, and honestly it isn't the greatest mag in the world, but it is a lot more useful than the other import mags I have seen. The idea for my swap came when I saw their failed attempt to instal the rb25 in a S14. I probably would have never tried it without reading that article.

Also I am a bit of a rotor head, and they rarerly do anything with the RX-7's, so that would be my biggest complaint, well that and the fact I still haven't received the issue you are talking about.

I'm not defending the magazine, but you do have to consider the fact that what keeps them in business is not only your subscriptions... but endorsements as well. With the exposure that their project Silvia has received... I'm sure all of the aftermarket is clamoring to slap their parts on it... and throw a huge chuck of change their way if they agree to do so.

Granted... bashing is not acceptable... it's a shame they have resorted to such tactics

i like the mag, altho i am a little tired of seeing japanese shop cars that dont see the road, or that had no expense spared because the builders were backed by the shop. I want to see some cars built by people who are cashiers, mailmen, garbage men, real people, real cars....

but then I am prolly the only one, and thats why they dont do it that way.

Your not alone. Who cares about the cars the shops are building with a $100,000 budget. Show me what can be done with $10,000 or $5000 by some guys in his backyard.

Damn straight. I'd love to have my car featured in the mag, but unless the car has $15,000 in bodywork and paint and an overpriced engine swap done by XS Engineering, instead of by me on a tight budget in my fvcking driveway, then it probably ain't gonna happen :rolleyes

Hmmm...ok, SCC is my favorite car magazine, as in the best car magazine for me, as in the car magazine that entertains ME the most. Don't act like there's an objective view to this.

I used to read Motor Trend, Automobile, Car and Driver all the time, and I still do to an extent, but I have such little interest in the minivans and suv's tested in these magazines that I'm not in to them as much anymore. These magazines appeal largely to people looking to buy a new car, or better yet, people who think they're ready to buy a new car but don't have the money and end up obsessing over a purchase for years.

SCC is great because there's less of the stuff I hate (SEMA, ugly girls in bikini contests, minivan road tests, etc.) and more of the stuff I like, such as the USCC, the recent time attack issue, and such.

Ding! That's exactly why I read those mags, and after I realized that that was why I read them, it's exactly why I STOPPED reading them and came back to reality :)

I did some looking, HybridOne, I think your talking about Super Street. Not Sport Compact Car.

SCC hasnt done anything Silvia/240 related for a few months. SS just updated its "Project Silver Stunner" which is what I think your talking about.

No worries. The orignal description just didnt sound like something SCC would do, I was just a little worried there for a second. :)
