Sorry for your luck. 17 years old with a brand new car, you should invest in something more easily replacable. Insurance will cover your losses. Eat the ticket, learn to drive better, the end.

Were you expecting a high five from the cop? Tickets are written to deter bad/unsafe driving habits. You obviously made a poor enough decision to warrant a ticket (plus the cost of some body work).

So suck it up - lesson learned. Life goes on. Just remember, it always could've been worse...

Ok I could be wrong here, but isn't the wtf emoticon typically used as a way of expressing a state of confusion or disbelief? As in: "I wrecked my car. On top of all the damage, the responding officer gave me a ticket for careless driving... wtf?"

My response was to reinforce the fact that OP was being ticketed for the cause of the damage, which the officer cited as careless driving.

If the OP was just listing all the "bad" things that happened, he/she would've been better off using any one of the bash/slap/squint/oy/angry/tisktisk/eek/thumbsdown/etc/etc emoticons.

just wanted to add myself to the conversation

im madd close to brunswick too, (EB, NB, SB) go to Regal and Loews all the time, practically live at RU, go to Rutgers but live in Wdbrdge

Btw, frosty sry for what happnd with ur car man, but just remb it can be replaced, not a life. I remb a few yrs back i was coming back from my gf's dorm at like 1am and hadn't slept the nite b4, and i made a big mistake that i won't ever repeat bcuz of making it that time (i closed my eyes for a sec and went into the guard rail, u kno the one on Route 1 near Menlo Mall, and that shook me up, but nothing happnd to me and my car had cuts and dents but all in all it was ok, cept for my axle being bent, but i still drove it for like another 1.5 years. 1994 Mazda Protege oh and p.s. IF you're tired from lack of sleep don't play relaxing music and have the heat on, put me right to slp, it was a reckless and grave mistake i make, but i learned from it.

Welcome to a world of pain... Watch and see how much your insurance goes up, 17 yo driver with a careless driving ticket... Id get a lawyer n go to court because i believe if it hits your license now, you will be paying around $4k for insurance the next 2 years atleast.

Im glad you arent in the hospital.

Maybe getting rims isnt the best idea right now for you as the winters coming up, and bc you are a new driver, its almost 100% that you will curb/ruin them before the spring hits! (my .02)

Now tell us what you were doing that caused this... trying to learn how to make a jack-knife turn on rt9?

I fail to see the problem here...This is the perfect excuse to get the Stillen Fascia and Extreme Dimensions fenders...Excellent work!!!

Seriously though, it's a shame to see your car get damaged especially when the damage is done by your own actions...We've all been there and we all feel for ya!

Get your car straightened out and back on the road! There is nothing a little work and time won't fix!
