Topic.

To make a long story short, I haven't had a cellphone for 2 weeks. Bought a new one a few days ago, and even though shipment is gonna be pretty quick, I can't stand it. I miss having a life:pface

I'm like this with everything I order online tho...

If you don't like long waits, then I hope you didn't get service with AT&T GSM. :D

sprint customer service isn't that bad. I've had to wait 20 -60 minutes to speak to a rep to cancel my service w/ att. And I had to do it 3 times because apparently, one call wasn't enough. :oface

Verizon sucks big ones. TMobile is far superior in terms of quality or service, and choice of phones. I'd much rather have a GSM phone than a TDMA/CDMA/AMPS phone. My phone works everywhere there is a GSM network, no matter what country.

The only thing they aren't superior to verizon in is service area, and they fix that by giving you free roaming, and roaming off any GSM provider in the US.

edit: I've had nothing but bad experiences with verizon

sprint customer service sucks balls. i was with spring a while ago, and when i signed up, i signed up with a $30 plan. A few months later, I noticed my bill jumped $5 and my plan had been changed to a $35 plan. I call up Sprint, and after a 15 minute wait, I'm informed I will have a $3 service charge added to my statement because I called customer service. I b1tch and moan, get the service charge cancelled, and found out apparently my service plan had been taken out of rotation months before I started my plan. The remedy of the situation, a simple message stating what had happened would have been nice.

When I cancelled my plan, I did it after I had been with them for a year and a half. I had originally agreed to a one year plan, and when I called to cancel and switch to US Cellular, I was never informed that I was breaching my contract with them. Apparently after my one year binding contract had ended, my continuation of using Sprint was apparently another one year binding contract. I was promptly charged with a $150 cancellation fee. And not only was I hit with one, but they double charged me this fee.

The saving grace of cancelling sprint was that I was able to waive both charges by allowing my plan to ride out the last few months till my second year was up.

All cell phones and cell phone companies are a joke, a waste, and a cancer.

We were better off years ago, before cell phones.

No, vicki, we really were better off years ago. The only time people should use a cell phone is in an emergency. They should be used with the frequency and stored with the care you store your spare tire or road flares.

Oh, I agree with you. :pface

I hardly ever use my cell phone. But most people I know are starting to use their cell as their primary phone and not even bothering with a landline and practically live with it attached at the hip. Soo... ridding the world of cell phones would make it a difficult place.

Sprint does suck. Horribly. I mostly hate the service, the customer service, and gee, the plans suck too. I plan to go either T-Mobile or Verizon sooner or later. I never get the time to do it, and then my next Sprint bill comes along.

As for cellphones, I think they're fine in moderation, don't use them while driving, and don't use them when someone is ringing you up at a store, or in a restaurant ( a nice one that is) That kind of poor etiquette drives me nuts.

Agreed. I use my cell as my main phone because I can always have it on me and I don't have to worry about my roomates tying up the line if I need it. It pisses me off when peoples' cells ring in class, or at a nice restaraunt, or most public places where it should be relatively peaceful and silent. It is not that hard to turn your cell phone off or to vibrate! Heck, I set mine to vibrate only whenever I carry it in my pocket because thats all you need. Why bother other people with your god-awful ringtone?

Anyway... cell=handy, but only when used considerately. It's just too bad 90% of people are jackasses.

I don't mind sprint. yes they are bastards with the customer service, but I like the way they sound, and Verizon wanted a damn 400 dollar deposit that I didnt have.

I have t-mobile right now. The phones suck, 2 bars out of 8 and you can't hear. I'm going back to nextel. The only good think about t-moblie is the one year contracts and if you don't like it after the first week you can still cancel. I recently got charged $10 for a 3 minute call to customer service because they screwed up my billing. They accidently charged me twice in a month I called customer support on my cell phone as I found out. How hard is it to bill me I paid my first 3 bills fine with no problem then they bill me twice for my 3rd month. I called up and got it straitened up and was still charged me just to speak with someone for 3 minutes. Nick

400 dollar deposit? I heard about that, isn't that a load of crap? I mean, if you switch from sprint to verizon, they're supposed to cover those costs and let you keep your old cell #, am i right?

Because i really want to switch from Sprint.

so far i've been happy with US Cellular. I will never give sprint another penny unless they change their entire business plan. I wanted to go with T Mobile originally, but the people at the cell store talked me into the US Cell. I don't think he had monetary reasons to get me to go to US Cell since the store offered US Cell, T-Mob, verizon, et all

Sky, you probably haven't heard of US Cellular because they don't offer service in Delaware.

On another interesting note, apparently Joan Cusack is their clelbrity spokesperson. http://www.uscc.com/uscellular....html

Anyone else find that slightly amusing?
