ok, so i try to sell my car. i put together my spare motor with brand new timing and gasket sets.. Checked everything twice like santa and all that good stuff...

I go to start it up, and it doesnt kick over right away.. Ok , so i play with the distribuor, and i get it to run and idle finee, no problems..

Now i try taking it down the road, and it runs like doo doo.. wtf

i know i had the timing right. i had new plugs put in, with correct gap..

Only thing i can think of is the 02 is really black, and should prob be replaced. ALso has an exhaust leak...

Now it runs like it is missing, and im pretty sure the plugs are fouled..

DO you think the 02 was bad, causing the plugs to foul. And if i replace them, it will work better?

IDK what could be wrong, and a very good mechanic is also stumped..He says it could be a whole bunch of things..

idk.. please give some suggestions.. I dont want to dump anymore money into this thing, its bad enough im losing as much as i am on it..

it could possibly be a dead injector.

i had to swap a motor one night, and i didnt change the fuel rail i just left it in the car. so a new motor and the same perfectly good injectors. ran and idles, but zero power production, first injector died.

exact same situation a few months later in my other 240. put the new clutch adn transmission in and consequently the motor, and all the sudden the first injector isn't dead but its reading too high of a resistance. ive never seen this happen before ever. however, it behave like a bum injector adn it was fine after i replaced it

so get an ohmmetter on those injectors, should be about 11-12 ohms. dead ones read 0, and the other malfucntioning/unexplainable one was reading 32 ohms

i will...

check all grounds.. anyone know all the locationscheck the compressionchange plugsand reset timing

and check the injectors..

defin not a prob with the 02 then huh? will let yalkl know what happens
