If there's one thing I like about taking the Q in for service, is the fact that I get a G35 for a loaner. I love driving those Gs. I get to the dealer and they don't have any G loaners left. Dammit!!! When that happens, they get you a rental from Enterprise. I had a choise between a Chevy Cavalier and a Chevy Trailblazer. I took the big arse truck. Man, pisses me off that I spend alot of money at that dealer for service and they don't have a loaner for me, especially when I can't drive a wonderful G35 until my next service, or until I buy one. Sorry, just venting.

That sucks. I usually call a day or so ahead for my appointments and they "save" a G35 for me.

since you are driving a car that is 14 years old or near that, i dont think you can really ask for a brand new car for a loaner. Just my .02.

It's part of the Infiniti Owner Experience. May not seem logical to ask for one, but they feel as an Infiniti owner you should have one .

Plus, the assumption is that you paid $60,000 for that car 14 years ago. And don't think they don't try to sell you that G35 you just drove for the day.

Too bad oil changes don't take all day... I'd get one just to drive a G for a day and see how I like it.

Of couse, that would necessitate my girlfriend going into major debt - she makes a sort of whimper sound every time I drive by the dealership and there's a silver G on the front of the lot...

Yea, I guess so, with a 10 year old Q, But I spend a lot of money at the service center. They did about $1200.00 in service last time. This time ther're doing 2 PS hoses, tie rod boots and belts. I'll be spending a good amount of cash today. Not only have they made the profit from the $52,000 that was paid for the car, but the thousands that has been spent servicing the car there in the past 10 years. Customer service has gone down, in general, in most of the luxury dealerships.

I haven't taken my J30 to the dealer for maintenance yet so I haven't had the loaner experience (heck, the J30 is the easiest car I've ever worked on, so why would I??), but I do sympathize with you. One of the perks about travelling as much as I do for work was getting a rental car that was better than the beater I used to drive. Now it's a total letdown to get 'stuck' driving a brand new Alero for a week. Am I spoiled?? NO!! I've merely raised my expectations!

Be happy, here in the indiana infiniti dealership, they dont give loaners out to old car owners .....

IIRC at this dealership it doesnt matter what your age is... Obviously if you have a new car this isnt the case.

^that's how it is here as well. The car might have been worth 50k then, but now its worth about 2k. Big difference.

Most dealers still give loaners to loyal customers. The idea is, you treat them well, they get you to trade it in some day.

I just took my J30 in for service yesterday. Had the pleasure of driving a G35 for the day. By the time I get used to how it drives, I have to give it back! But they are always quick to remind me that they can sell me a new one of my own when I tire of the J.

Man, they're not done with my Q yet. It's been 3 days and it went in for simple stuff. They said they were short of techs to work on the cars. I WANT MY Q BACK! I hate driving this crappy truck. Hopfully today, I get it back.

Sounds like a great excuse to go to Home Depot and get something large and heavy!

I already did the first night I had it. The only time it's nice to have a truck.
