Driving home from hockey, see a blur run across..."wtf was that", then see another deer cross, slow down...then BOOM! right into the side of me, didnt even see it...I think im taking up deer hunting.

One thing I'll say is that this car is damn solid, didnt even knock me out of my lane.

I hate deer too. Fortunately no run ins with one yet! The deer that hit your car must have been huge!

Hey nogears909,

Can I ask if this was on the highway, or was it on one of the city streets that has random deers running around all the time (grant ave. etc.)?

at walmart in the auto section there is this thing, i think its called Deer Whistle or something simular you put it on your car and i think it costs like 5 dollars.

Basicly it is supposed to emit a noise that only animals can hear an annoy them from a distance and get them to run away before they stare into your head lights and freak out.

One night i was driving home and i saw 6 deer on this road and i thought man i am lucky none of them darted infront of me, next night i drove same road with the whistle on and i saw no deer. Even if the thing works 1% of the time, its still worth 5 dollars hahah.

That sucks man. I am sorry about your car. My wife and I hit a deer in her Mini Cooper and man those things can do some damage. There has to be a better way of having natural selection that at the expense of really nice cars right?

Man.. That's a shame. Glad you're ok though. I've seen some pretty bad wrecks with deer involved, and sometimes the person gets hurt more than the deer. If it makes you feel any better, deer run into my bullets every fall . But, alas, I'm not allowed to shoot enough to make up for all of us driving out there (or should I do for me being a hick?)

Doesn't surprise me seeing the paint flake on the rear quarter panel. To flex that much, there is a good chance the safety crumple zones on the car had some impact, which would describe your feelings in the car not reacting heavily, because the car did around you.

Just make sure a quality place willing to take their time is doing this. There is a lot of things going on with a side impact hitting multiple panels.

Glad to hear you're ok... I'm in SoCal.. animals aren't a general consideration, unless it's those evil O'Possums.. I hate those things.. but I've heard horror stories..

ya it will be going into the Nissan body shop. Thinking of also taking my rims and and throwing in a lil cash of my own and having the rims color matched since they will be mixing paint already
